Hey everyone,

I just got home from a 15 minute drive, i came up to a small roundabout that leads onto a 50mph duel carriageway, i stopped at the round-about to let a retro car go (Obviously quite slow) then an Audi.

I then proceeded onto the Duel Carriage way as i would any other day entering the inside lane as i had a fast pull away, the retro style car was going quite slow, i was going to overtake it and the Audi stuck behind, as i came to where my head is in line with the rear door of the Audi he started to filter into my lane without looking or indicating, i slammed on my horn and checked my rear mirror to see if i could break, i couldn't as i had a family car right up my rear end!

Long story short i want to kiss my bike, i dropped a gear and just throttled it (probably not good for the bike but it got me past him)

Later down the road at some lights he pulled beside me, i didn't do anything like throw my finger up or shout, i just looked over and i noticed he was a Dwarf, i dont know why but i feel bad for getting so angry inside my helmet, am i just being silly? Im defiantly getting a GoPro soon, need one for stuff like this :P

Anyway thats my story of what happened today, im going to go take my bike to a 5* restaurant for saving my life!

well I say even if they're short, tall, black, white, female, or male, if they're a stupid driver then the rage is justified. Just as long as you don't go OTT by making an angry comment about his size. Treat your bike to some warm water and fresh oil :P

Allso good job in checking the mirrors and not just panicing over the Audi :) Sign of a good rider right there :D

Ride safe mate

Random, yet slightly related fact. I failed my mod 2 for narrowly avoiding running a midget over. :)

Don't feel bad, you didn't know he was 'vertically challenged' at the time :P

Cheers :D

yeah, incidents like this allow you to discover yourself, often spread along 50m of tarmac (sorry I have a terribly dark humor) glad you're ok though mate

If you are driving a vehicle of any kind, you are fully responsible for the safe operation of that vehicle, period. Midget, handicapped, whatever, you still have a responsibility to everyone around you to NOT try and kill them.

So yes, you were totally justified in being upset.

As for worrying about revving the bike up, don't. That is what they are designed to do. The power band is much higher in the rev range than on a car, so dropping a gear or 2 is how you put it where its happy to accelerate. Just learn the bike, and where the power band is in each gear, that way you aren't dropping too many gears and overshooting the redline.
