Okay.. So just went out to my bike...

Rear tyre..
Flat.

REALLY?!!!
So I buy the bike and in 2 weeks I've found that:

I need a new exhaust manifold - £175-250
New rear tyre - £100-500 OR Fix - £50.
Rubber surrounding on screen - £5

What next? NEW FUCKING ENGINE?!!?

ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

how'd that happen? hit something yesterday? I've used those puncture repair canisters they work well, just spray it in and ride at 40 for a while for it to settle. hope you get it fixed soon.

*Cough*

When I bought my SV650 there was a crack in the swingarm

When I bought my FJ1200 .... it was a MESS
New rocker cover gasket
New bar ends
New inner panels
New brake pads
Fork seals
Front wheel bearings

When I bought my ZX9r It needed a
new exhaust strap
new downpipes (as 3 of the headers had snapped due to crappy exhaust strap)
New radiator
New front sprocket cover + bolts
New rear huggar is required
Different screen

:)

You're not alone :D

The worst I've had is a puncture 2 weeks after buying a new bike.

On a Sunday morning, when all the shops were closed.
With the puncture being on the outer bit where it shouldn't be repaired.

Utter devastation ensued.

I can't imagine what it must be like for those who have it worse.

You're not alone. I've had to do a lot of work on my bikes I purchase because I usually end up falling for the cheapest bike for sale at the time.

With my current used Triumph I've had to:
Fix a bent front rim
Buy new radiator cowls, brackets, and turn signals
Replace front suspension
Get new tires
Stabilize shaky instrument cluster
Replace valve cover gaster (pending)

Needless to say...I don't really have that great of luck with buying used motorcycles. I think I'm going to buy a new (or next to new) motorcycle whenever it comes time for another motorcycle. I'm loving my current ride right now though.

I quite enjoy fixing niggles on the bike... Id be annoyed if it was big jobs that I'd have to book it in for though....
