Hey hey hey,

Decided to sell my bike for a number of reasons, Gained weight (On purpose) so it's no longer as nippy as it once was, Not really using it as much as I should and it's costing me an arm and a leg :O

Not a big part of the community, with no Vlogs at all (yet) but will aim to get some when I get my new big bike after DAS in june, See if I can get over my crippling shyness about hearing myself talk, ha. And hopefully be able to get to some meets!

Will still be posting and lurking though :)

That's a shame man!
I'm the same with hearing myself speak, I've recorded about 3 potential vlogs but when it comes to editing I always end up deleting the footage. :|
Hope your DAS and stuff goes well!

Fair enough mate, glad you arnt junping completely out of the game! You will be eager to ride again whe you pass your DAS, good luck! :)

Yea I'm afraid the moment it's gone I'll have the urge to go out again!
Being welsh I talk way to fast  , Can't even understand myself when I listen back on stuff I've said
Will give me a chance to save for a big bike, Thinking of an SV650S at the moment and that probably won't change due to good insurance quotes and sensible prices :D made the mistake of taking this bike on finance.

That's my problem too, I'm doing my test next month but because I still have a years finance to pay, I doubt I'll be on a bigger bike until next year :(

The SV has got to be a solid choice!

IRDUG - your not the only one that hates hearing them talk...
Maybe we should get the device that changes the pitch of our voices ;)

Just like in the old halo! Good times, I'll attempt to break through it this summer! Record first big bike ride etc.

Just a little update/Hunt for suggestions!
Haven't had any interest at all with the bike yet! Must be the wrong time of year
I have been offered £2300 exchange with a local garage + they have a 61 plate pre-reg SV650s which has been offered for £4000, Only problem is I'm not taking my DAS till June, Is it worth getting the bike for that price now?

Given that you said you'd taken the existing bike on finance I assume that means you'd be financing the extra 1700 to upgrade to the pre-reg SV650S? If that's the case then I'd say it wasn't a good move just now. You'll likely be losing out on the deal - and you're not in a hurry anyway since you're not doing the DAS until June. If you were doing your test tomorrow my advice would probably be different. It also means you're going to paying finance on a bike you can't ride and that is going to feel painful.

You have three months to try and sell your bike and if it's worth more than £2300 then you could make money there. Dealers sitting on pre-reg 2011 SV650s will bite people's hands off for cash, more so than for other bikes and the only risk there is there won't be any more left in June. The best way to mitigate that risk is shop around the country on ebay or whatever and see how many pre-reg or very nearly new SVs you can find around that price. If there are a lot (and I suspect there may be), then you don't have too much risk here either.

It's all a balancing game on whether you feel the risk is too great to wait, but be very cautious of jumping into more finance if you have to wait till June to do your DAS.

I also think there may be other reasons why the bike is not selling, looking at your advert. You're trying to give people too much information on your advert and I think that may put them off - remember you are trying to make a sale, not give everyone all the information in the world. I'm not saying you should lie, but let them ask some of the questions.

Also - in your advert you include a video of you riding the bike, where there is a lot of wind noise in the video (I only flicked through it). I'm not sure what the point in the video is (it's interesting to us as vloggers, but not a buyer of the bike). If you did a static walk around of the bike showing that it was undamaged and all nice and shiny after a wash it'd provide MUCH more value to your sale than the one you've included now.

Sorry if I've sounded harsh, but I'm just trying to help you get the best value from your biking.

My advice? Keep at it
Put the bike on Gumtree as well as ebay
Dont mention that its kept outside
Dont lower price as you'll end up losing loads

Bear in mind THIS bike at THIS price WILL sell. If you put this up last september when I was looking for a 125, I'd have walked from essex to buy it :)
Its a stunning bike (I'm tempted to get one as a cheap runaround when I upgrade)

I'm tempted to sell the CBF125 the missus has and get this as it's a much better 125 for her to muck about on.

The new CBR's look fantastic
Really wish I'd got one when I had the chance :(

Yea I wouldn't wanna keep carrying on the finance, Would be never ending!
Insurance renews on the 11th, If I take out a years policy and pay it all off at once, Can I claim back the months I haven't used?
I'll keep at it! Currently on Freeads, Gumtree and eBay.

@Yarek

Not harsh at all, I'll go back over my advert and trim it down a bit. 300 views on it so far and 1 best offer of £1,700 o.O

Should be able to on the insurance front - I've had insurance refunded due to sale in the past. Best to check with your insurer.

Some insurers wont due to your not riding it & once you've sold it and someone else insures it they have a problem.

Id suggest you Tell the insurance tou dont want to renew & then SORN the bike.

Insurance, if its £500 for the year & you claim the money back you will be lucky to get £350 back die to them just piling on admin fees, & all that crap. Id suggest you buy a banged up moped & just keep gaining NCB in the meantime. Thats what id do if anything bad where to happen to my bike touch wood it doesnt.
