I just read on the Associated Press that daredevil stuntman Robbie Knievel died Friday at the age of 60. He had pancreatic cancer.

He started doing stunts as a child imitating his dad, Evel.

You never want motorsport heroes to die in accidents. Yet it sounds so wrong, to hear them pass away in old age, due illness. Is this the aura of the racing scene from 60s and 70s, that causes the latter feeling?
