Recording In The Rain

Hey everyone, just wondering if there was any workaround or fixes to having water on your camera lenses while recording? At daytime it doesn't look that bad but at night, as soon as light hits the water, the footage becomes crappy cause you can't see anything. Seems like all the people who I watch will either never be seen when there is a cloud in sight or if they are caught in the rain, its during the daytime so it doesn't make that bad of a difference.

So is there any way to have usable recordings when it is raining + night?

I wonder if Rainex would work, that stuff you put on your windscreen that makes the rain slide off?

Some sort of water dispersant fluid, like WD40 that wont leave a noticeable film over the lens or damage it? That way the water should bead and run off quick from wind? Good to see you game to get a motovlog done battling a rainy night!

I use the anti-rain stuff I use on my visor. Careful with car windscreen Rainex, it's not necessarily any good on plastics if you aren't sure whether your camera lens is glass or plastic based. However, it's not foolproof, how the air flows over your visor may not be enough to blast the rain off. But at least if you use the visor stuff, you can use it on your visor too :)
