Race Leather Question

I'm looking for a one piece, but second hand.

I'm a beanpole, 6'2", 40-42" chest, 32"L in trouser. Most stuff appears to be for short tubby folk, or is advertised in Euro sizes which fox me.

Anyone know my Euro size as the numbers aren't centimetres. Not sure anyone has a 54cm vital statistic! Also, best plaito buy from?

Prices seem to either be cheap or expensive 2nd hand too.

When you find a brand you like just jump on their site and have a look at the size chart. You can also find pretty much every chart on revzilla as well.

No clue about the meaning behind the sizing numbers, I just know that you should go try wearing them and see if they fit good. Different brands might have different cutting. Anyways, if I were you, I'd drop by a store and test fit a few brands (for a rough idea of sizing), to make it worth their while entertaining you, you could buy an inner piece, it makes wearing the leathers easier anyway when you're trying them out.

I've got long underwear for leathers if that's what you mean? Like jogger trouser style pants with stirrups?

I personally hate 1 piece suits. Could never find one which fit properly in all areas. Either too tight around the shoulders, lower back or thighs when sat on the bike. But as mentioned above, your best bet is to go and try loads of different ones on. I wouldn't buy based solely on the size on the label.

Very true, although I'm not going to try on leathers that look like they'd fit a prop forward :)

Second hand market is limiting especially if you want to try on.

I have issues with sizing, too. I'm 6'2", 200lbs with a long arms and torso. My chest is a 44 and my waist is like 33, so I'm built kind of like Lurch. I will probably have to put together a 2 piece from mismatched sizes.

Something like compression/dry-fit type, some call it the inner. It basically works to wick the sweat away from your booty, er, I mean body, and also makes it easier to put on your leathers.

sportbiketrackgear com has really knowledgeable staff
a lot of the people who work there are racers and do a ton of track days.

If you call them and describe your dimensions etc they can help.

I had to get different pants and jacket on my 2 pc leathers.

another good place to find used race leathers is at track days, the people who rent them out also sell them
