Please Help!!

My go pro recorded in the typical .mp4 format but for some reason (to add to the long list of issues i've had with my new go pro) the files cannot be played with quicktime, and every program I have downloaded on my mac cannot even read the file to convert it to something else. I recorded a good hours worth of footage that I now do not have . In the future, because I erased all of the footage to reformat the brand new (used twice) SD card, how can I fix this???

you can try gom player, you can also instal mp4 codec for fix it

I tried VLC and it errored also. Even the gopro couldn't playback the videos... Ugh. Had any of you guys ever experienced this before?! Short of stopping and check the gopro, there was no way for me to know it wasn't working properly. The red light was flashing every time I checked my mirrors. Very frustrating.

Try https://handbrake.fr/ and see if it can be converted?

have you download the codec pack?

Probably your SD card might not have been formatted properly causing the corrupted file, make sure you format it using the camera function, and not format on PC/MAC. See if the issue still persists.

If you have been formatting it with the camera, it could point to perhaps a faulty SD card? If you have a spare card, try with that one (format it with the camera first), and see if the issue still persists.

Usually corrupted files are due to the formatting or recording process having a glitch, which sometimes happens but not that frequent.

I've had a similar issues before with my laptop and a camera not playing files, you may need to uninstall and re-install your video player driver.

Quicktime seems to have a problem with the way the mp4 is created by the gopro a friend of mine had to convert them from mp4 to mov

Make sure you are using a recommended memory card.
