it's a huge photo that I can't scale down or you won't be able to see anything. Follow the link and then click to make it full size.

Looks like a cop paint job, but he's not wearing a uniform... ???

If that's a legit police bike, then I'd say it's pretty likely that he's a cop. They don't ALWAYS wear uniforms you know, and some of them do get to take their vehicles home with them...

A guy in my class said his daughter met a cop in San Fran who only had on a normal uniform ob instead of bike gear. She was head to toe in leathers and asked why he wasn't wearing any, he said they aim is to not come off the bike haha.

Pretty sure that is everyones aim :p

I think he was just being arrogant. I know a couple motor cops who would love to wear more/proper gear but aren't allowed to. They have to meet certain uniform requirements and the officers themselves don't have much say in it. But his statement still holds some water..some of the best riders you'll ever see on the street are cops, and they're certainly the most highly trained.

We have a lot of motorcycle cops in my area and I've never seen one with anything even close to full gear. Most of them have boots, regular slacks, a short sleeved shirt and gloves. Most use an open face helmet. I've only seen a few with full face helmets and they were the ones on Hayabusas. Most are on Harleys or BMWs and dress like they work beach patrol. I've also seen a few Ducati Hypermotards but I didn't see the cops riding them.

Does not look like a typical CA cop. The bike doesn't look right either. He could be an undercover cop intended to blend-in but I wasn't aware of that happening in CA yet, though I've heard rumors of it.

My vote is no, not a cop.

Well this is CO, not CA, but I see what you're saying.

Right I didn't see "Police" anywhere but there is some writing up on the front fairing below the screen that looks like it might say something. Also I've never seen a cop in anything more than a short-sleeved uniform and gloves.

Yeah the bike cops over in the UK wear full gear, leathers, boots, gloves and flip up helmet.

Yeah I know, I think they SHOULD wear the same here, and at least some of them agree. I've never heard what the logic is behind not having them in full gear is, but I doubt it makes much sense.
