People making shorts from your material - would you be happy?

Yes you are right. That was an amazing clip and it wasn't long afterward that it appeared on just about every traffic / motorcycle compilation channel on youtube. Clips like that drive traffic (no pun intended) to the compilation channels NOT to the original source, unfortunately.

Yeah, that's the shame... I'd take some free advertisements if it gained me views & subs :D

Yup, but those vids will not stop being robbed, even if you check the box sadly, Tik Tok, Instagram and Facebook really don't seem to care about copyright

From what I understand it's something like an Insta story or whatever so it has to be shot vertical and just a few seconds long.. Again that short clip itself is NOT eligible to be monetized, however say for example I were to sample (as many as I can within the short duration) the top famous motovloggers and say something like I'm their best buddy come check me out.. That "might" help get me some traffic but whether they follow/sub or see my own works is still up to them.

So can you combine shorts in to one video, or can it only be posted separately as that single clip?
If the first option is possible, a dedicated nolifer can piece together a complete video, from these clips. I mean it only takes 40 of 15 second clips, to put together a 10 min video.

"Shorts" are just that, up to 1min duration, just like Tik-Tok

Oh wow, I just now realized that "YouTube Shorts" is an actual thing! I thought you all were just talking about clip videos and such.

I've never done this, but I see that Her Two Wheels did one yesterday. First time I've seen a YouTube video done like that, lol.

Then you've been under a rock for a month ;)

I did 3 shorts and a #Long vlog about the results I got :D

A warning can be placed in the videos description claiming that piracy is not allowed or tolerated and legal action will be taken against any channel that pirates content from your channel. A Copyright bug can be added at the end of ones videos too.

In the US it marks the possibility that you have a copyright certificate, and if you take the violator to Federal Court (in the US) and you do have one, there's a very good chance you'll win. If so, you'll receive the amount the judge awards you (from the violator) and the other guy (the violator) pays your legal fees too.

Other than that, not much than just a warning, but one with added weight.

Thanks LandyVlad for sharing this. I guess I don't mind people using my video or works, so in many of my videos...I put this in my description box. I do this in hopes of at least getting some credit so people know where the clip came from.
My description box message goes like this:

If you would like to use any part of this video in one of your videos, please just shoot me a quick comment below and give me a small description or in frame video credit with one of the following citations:

YBGuy
YellowBackpackGuy
YBGuy.com

And if one of my clips did blow up (somehow) on someone's channel and they gave NO credit. I may take Scooterwufs route on trying to get some credit/or moneys back.

So moral of the story is... if you are into making compilations, just ask! Many times people would be happy to share their clips, especially smaller YouTubers (I would think). I sure don't mind. : ) I think it would be a nice traffic booster (if you are into that sort of thing). :)

I don't know, I think I'd be okay if someone used clips from my videos? I mean wouldn't that be some nice free advertising for my channel if they did?

My gut feeling is I'm not too concerned about this. Is that wrong?
Me too.

I have made a "#Short" video I will post it and my regular vid on Thursday just to see if it gets any traction, I doubt it will as I am not eating washing powder or making a cat do cute faces, but will be interesting to see as an experiment.
