Partnership

Im sure most of you have had offers galore from people / companies asking you to join their network.

Has anyone done this yet and what was the result and was it worth it?

The reason I ask is I am getting a lot of requests now and my channel has stagnated in growth and was wondering if it is worth a shot?

Also any recommended ones out there to join?

A lot of the big vloggers are on networks for one simple reason.

If you rely on the income and something goes wrong, you have 1 strike and you're out with Adsense with a lifetime ban.

This means that channel, and you personally, can never earn money through Adsense again. With a partnership you have people you can contact, and options if things go wrong.

Everyone I've ever come across says that other than that, partnerships are useless for growth etc. unless you're huge.

Jake recently said that once you are a big channel, youtube answers your emails, so you dont need a partnership at all.
Thunderous, it will be interesting to hear your thoughts if you join one. Just demand a 6 month contract instead of being locked in for 2 years. 2 Years is a loooooong time in motovlogger time

I think I'd want a short term contract if I was to try it, but it's sorting the wheat from the chaff as to which ones are worthwhile.

I'd give these guys a go: 1 month contract and a 90/10 split:

After chatting with a few of the networks they seem to be basically the same. IE they do feck all, promise a lot but do not help with growth and the subscribers count is mostly people subscribe to their clients totaled.

So yes they may and it is a may help but as for helping to grow the channel they can't help much none of them will do any promotion for you as such. Which in all honesty is fair enough.

The only advatage I can see is they 'may' fight your corner against copyright strikes etc and if your lucky get a slightly better advert deal.

It is all slightly though.

I know everyone has their own opinion on this. But for me, I like to take advice from bigger people and learn from their experiences. I know in a live stream Jackthegardensnake talked about this. He is sponsored and once his contract is over he is not going to do it again. He mentioned that they never live up to what they offer. Even with someone as large as him, so imagine for us smaller motovloggers. Just putting it out there, do with it what you will.

I recently read a report in a German newspaper about those networks. In the article it was mentioned that many of the bigger Youtubers are trying to get out of their contracts, because the networks are pressuring them to release videos and what content their videos should contain and what not. Personally I have no experience with networks, so I don't know if it's true or not, but after reading this article I'm not that interested in working with a network.

Wow they try to control the content that is put out. That's bad...my vlogs would be worst if I was forced to talk about something I don't want too.

I really want to, because im getting desperate for views and subs,

But they wont deliver, Nothing in life is easy

I think the channel the report was about, was a gaming channel. The network tried to tell him what games to play and what "opinion" to have. This is just bullshit. In return, he got quite a bit of promoting work, but the longer he stayed with the network the less work they did and the more they tried to influence his channel. It all ended with the Youtuber shutting down his channel and starting a brand new channel, because they wouldn't let him go. I don't know if the affair went to court or not, but it made it to some of our bigger newspapers.

I was kind of curious to what the partner thing was about when I was looking at 6ft honda's about page... nice to read a bit more on what it is about. (still don't fully know)

ALWAYS read the full text of the contract before even considering a partnership. Both of the direct offers I've gotten have stated in the contract that if I break the partnership, they keep 100% of the revenue until the end of the term. If they end the partnership... they keep 100% of the revenue until the end of the term. Totally fair, eh?

Most of these partnership offers are scams to just take money from as many people as possible. Their contracts say NOTHING about being obligated to provide your channel with service and all points of the contract involve YOUR responsibility to them rather than them having any responsibility whatsoever to you. When I brought this up to both groups I stopped hearing back from them.

Sorry, but I'm not giving away a percentage of what little my channel pays for nothing but a massive risk. I'm not worried about strikes on my account because I don't use copyrighted work in any manner beyond fair use. Only use <5s clips of audio or video and you should be fine.

Just go to socialblade.com to see what networks vloggers belong to. Basically all of the well known ones are in a network.

messaged ol 6ft, he said that they arent bad , they are helpful etc,

But i wouldnt go for a partnership just yet...
