So today is Friday, July 20. I am currently sitting on the bed in a hotel room at Eureka Springs, Arkansas.

Wednesday I took the day off work and helped my dad load his 2008 MotoGuzzi 1200 Sport, my mom's 2007 MotoGuzzi Breva 750, and my 2009 Kawasaki ZX-6r into a trailer. I know I know, trailer queens. I wasnt too worried about making the roughly 250 mile trip on the zx, but my mom didnt want to ride there. Modifying and loading the trailer took most of all day.

Thursday morning we headed out. About 15 miles from my parents house out on the highway we blew out the right side trailer tire at about 75-80mph. Changed the tire on the side of the road, find a tire shop at a town a few miles down the road, buy a new one, continue on our way.

We arrived Thursday afternoon around 1ish. We unloaded the bikes and went for a little ride on the Pig Trail. (no footage/motovlogging)
After that we walked around town and enjoyed the night. We rode to a biker/Harely bar and ate dinner there, mostly just to tick off the poser Harley riders! That was Thursday.

This morning we woke up, ate breakfast, geared up and went for a 150mile/3 hour ride around the twisty Ozarks. This time I was recording. I had one camera on the tail of my bike looking out behind me and my other camera on my helmet for a rider's eye view and for narrorating and motovlogging. It was really nice. 3 deer encounters(just siting no real close calls), hit a bird, nearly hit 2 squirrels, hit an opossom and nearly wrecked, TONS and TONS of grasshoppers and dragonflys.

We get back to the hotel, park the bikes and shed the gear. We go for a swim in the pool and chill. After that I went to my room to watch the footage, move it from the sd card to computer, delete off sd card, recharge the cameras, etc. Im planning for another 1.5 hour ride tomorrow and I prep the cameras and gear for tomorrow. My parents call me to make plans. I walk outside and throw a leg over my bike to ride across the hotel complex to meet my parents to go to dinner. Right as i let out the clucth and start to go I know something is wrong...

I get to the other side and see my parents talking to a few guys on a Kawasaki Concours and a V-Strom they rode down from Canada. I yel at them and point at my bike and ask them if they see anything wrong. right off the bat my dad says my rear tire is flat.

So a little about my rear tire. It was on its way out anyways. When I get home I had to change it anyways, I already have the tire at my dads garage to use his tools to do it, so its bought and paid for, I'm not going to go to a shop here and buy a second new one. My dad always carries a patch kit but none of us trust it to hold up in the hard riding we plan for tomorrow up into Missouri and back. So I'm kinda SOL... :x

We put my bike on the trailer and my parents decided they didnt want to go riding if i had to stay in town. I told them I didnt mind. I'd pal around town and hit on the local chicks.
We decided we would spend the night here, load the other bikes up in the morning and head back home a day early so we would still have a weekend day left to ourselves before the work week.

I'm totally bummed, but I am so thankful the tire didnt go flat until the parking lot. had it been out 150 miles in the mountain....FML dude!

Well there is my vacation thus far and for the most part. Anyone else had a similar experience?
Sorry for the wall of text, if you read all the way through, good for you man, your a trooper!!!

Don't mention flat tire around me for awhile. Check out the Ozark Meetup thread.

Glad you had a good time though, it sure has been hot lately!

I've been hearing a ton about the Ozarks lately. I think it's just another way to make me feel bad I couldn't make the yearly meetup there this year haha. Always great to read trip reviews though. Always love great footage and pictures too. :)
