Output settings

Hey guys question for the more technically minded (in regards to video editing).

I currently capture everything on 1080P at either 30 fps or 60fps.
I use adobe premiere pro CC.

When i export the video i seem to lose a lot of video quality. Could someone tell me their settings for maintaining decent video output. I'm at work at the moment so can't check my settings atm. but i know i export at 1080p 30fps .H246 (or whatever the codex is called). But the Vids after export are lower quality (or at least seem that way when watching on the pc or on youtube).

Cheers for your help guys

maybe it's the bit rate? Depend on your camera it's recorded above 10000kbps mine does 16000kbps something and i always export it the same way. Uploading to youtube loses you again a bit though. You can easily check a 10min video with 30fps should bring you to an about 1GB file-size. I don't know about adobe but i am sure you can set the bit rate! ( you can check it if you right click in the video file properties and then on the details tab )

I'll check that out when i get home thanks sjbali. Yeah 10min vids are about 300mb for me, will sort it out eventually lol :)

If you're recording at 60 and saving at 30 you need to make sure it doesn't merge the frames, otherwise you get a fuzzy edge.

yup have a look. how large is the original 10min file from the cam? Like i said i had the same issue before until i discovered that i exported with a 5000kbps bitrate which compressed down a lot but also made the quality horrible

i see if you record in 60fps you also need to export it in 60fps of course, assuming the rest of the settings are ok, the video size shouldn't change much. Like i said check the bit rate.

I found this maybe this helps:
