I thought I could share this video with you. It was taken some years ago and it caused quite an outrage. This is what press said:

"Butchery at Czech championship!
Rider took his bike into the opposite lane and hit the group of the cyclists right during the Czech championship race! This frightening event happend during Saturday at Great prize of Příbram race where careless biker caused the tragedy.
"

It should be noted the race was happening on the road that wasn't closed for this occassion for the traffic. The competitors immediatly sued the biker. They were constantly and repeatly lying to the court about the progress of the accident, about riding style of the biker or about poor technical condition of the motorbike (which was actualy renewed veteran bike with valid technical inspection and insurance). What actualy happened shows the onboard camera on the motorbike. It was the cyclist group that was on the wrong side of the road and they can consider themselves lucky because the bike wasn't at the maximum allowed speed (90kph). What's not seen on the video, are the cyclist beating the biker after the accident while shouting "Kill him! Kill that fucker!" until the escort car arrived.

This footage actualy saved the oldtimer from the jail and some of the competitors were expelled from the rest of the championship and punished by the court for numerous charges (no first aid, brawl/physical assault and attempt to cheat the court).

This video boils my blood everytime I watch it.

ANYONE who thinks they just own the road and get to break the laws just because their vehicle is 'special' (motorcyclists, bicyclists, cages, big rig trucks, etc.), annoy me to no end. Public roads, they belong to all of us, and if you're on it you have to follow the rules. If you can't? Go somewhere else.

I've considered getting a cheap, permanently mounted 'dash cam' for the bike for situations just like that! Ya never know... They sell cheap VGA or even 720p (though it doesn't have to be HD to convince a court), cameras with a 'loop' function. So, say, I stick a 16GB SD card in there, and it can record 12 hours of video at 480p (making all this up, I have no idea). Well, it'll record the last 12 hours, as it records, it records over the oldest footage. So, you don't do anything, just leave it mounted and on. Then, if something happens, pull the card! You've got your last 12 riding hours right there! (Or however many it is!)

I tell everyone to grab a camera, not just for motovlogging but for all vehicles to protect your self in court.

These cyclists are extremist sheep, they will follow the loudest person in the group. I've seen this happen many times and it's not just adults, children in schools can gather in huge groups of hundreds, and attack a single student not knowing why.

I hope the old guy can comfortably get back on the bike without fear.

That would be why I use the camera setup I use, and why I've spent lots of time, and money, making sure I can record absolutely every second of every ride. You never know when some dumbass is going to be in your way. It's a shame the rider didn't sue the shit out of the cyclists, as well as whoever sanctioned the race. They both conspired to cause him pain and likely mental anguish.
