I got this notification yesterday, and being an existing Adsense user I was able to activate it all straight away. I can now run ads on all my videos.. I thought this was kind of odd as it's not a full 'partner' thing but it has the same monetization.. I guess I'm one of this new batch.

Has anyone else received this notification from youtube? I have less than 200 subs and around 8000 video views total.. I think it was my one drag racing vid which has 1000 views that triggered it for me..

Anyway, interesting! Would be nice to have custom thumbs and more channel options though.

Also I'll be leaving ads off my videos until they are around a week old, so that my lovely subs don't get too bothered by them.

I got offered this in June last year, also take care with the videos you submit for monetization make sure they are 100% your own work sound, images etc etc. As they have closed a few accounts were copyright has been breached.

Also if you select one of the music tracks on youtube to replace your own sound you can not monetirize that video.

Last month after the new filter/ranking youtube introduced my revenue generated from youtube tripled over night, still a pathetic amount but was interesting to see it happen.

Have fun!

I honestly think the 'partnership' thing was a fancy way of calling it a Beta-testing program. I don't know of anything that a partner gets that I don't, and I've never been sent anything with the word 'partner' or 'partnership' on/in it.

It would stand to reason that both Google and YouTube want -every- video monetized. Even if they only made a penny each, if they managed to get every video monetized they'd make an insane amount of money. I really do believe that the early 'partnership' was to work out the bugs on higher volume videos/users.

The only thing I can think of is that I, as a full partner can upload a totally different picture or a screenshot on the main video thumbnail so it looks a bit more interesting where you only have 3 random images to choose from....that's about it I think.

Youtube will give you that Opition if you are getting a going consistent rate. you must have been pre selected because of "potential" growth.

Im not a partner, I'm the same as you i just montenize my adds.

I will apply for partner in June / July as i have to wait another few months thanks to a BS black mark on my name.

What was that for, thats if you don't mind saying...

youtube marked me for doing a video about a video were i talk about a scooter crash and show the footage in slow motion.

my appeal was rejected because youtube said its" shock and awe"

i threatened to take legal action against youtube but any new video now days that involves a accident is sub-classes as "shock and awe" so they can mark you for it for the MOSt BS of reasons e.g. " horrific screaming at point of crash " etc etc.

Wow that's interesting .. and a little wierd. Guess they can't be seen to be actively supporting shock/gore type videos... though it's only a few steps away from things like funniest home videos where people buts their balls on railings etc..

There's a pretty fine line between gore and comedy gold. It sounds like they may be following FCC standards on what constitutes what. Can't really blame them for covering themselves like that either. To allow anything would open themselves for a lot of lawsuits, and they gotta draw the line somewhere..
