This has properly been asked before...

I tried a normal headset at first, than a computer headset, now I even bought a motorcycle headset... But still, none of these microphones is usable for motovlogging. To much noise, like the wind, the engine, or even cracking noises.

What do you guys use? Cant be that hard...

i use the drift mic, but before that, i bought a cheap one and just slapped some foam around it

check out how to make a microphone cat, google it... fluffy stuff around your mic, it absorbs the noise

I cut a phone headset to pieces, leaving only the mic. (I do separate audio/video) and been shoving that in my helmet, I definitely need to make a cat.

Okay I now have the SamrtLav+ from Rhode, duct taped right in front of my mouth inside my helmet. The cable goes in two half circles around my helmet (behind the lining) and I use a extension cable to connect to my smartphone. That way I just disconect the extension cable from the helmet and I can easaly take the helmet of. Also I dont have to get the microphone outside my helmet, I can just leave it in there all the time.
For recoring I use the app RecForge Lite.

I use an external mic on my Drift, the mic is a cheap laptop microphone from Maplins connected to a pin adapter that then connects via the Drift USB port with a cable. I made my own dead cat by buying some fake fur fabric and sewing it so it fit around the mic. Works brilliantly, mic in front of my mouth, removes wind noise even with the visor open at 60+ mph (100kph)
