Ah the joy of fresh rain and camping in the mountains.

Fun fact #1 - moss can grow on asphalt in some places.

Fun fact #2 - freshly watered moss gets slick!

It was all the way over. This is looking up the slope of the roadway.

These photos of damage are at the shop.

So far the guesses are between $2000 USD and 2500.

What do you think?

I'm sticking to my $2K. The part I'm most curious about is you sir, just want to confirm no tweaking of anything on your interior or exterior?

I took measurements and the line at the bottom of the radio is not parallel with the gauges when riding. So there could be a tweak somewhere there.

The gussets at the neck looked smooth so that looks fine.

Wow, that sucks! Glad you're OK, though. I don't know what H-D parts costs, but a Vaquero with the same damage would be about $2,200 in 2018 money, so probably $2,500 for your bike to get fixed up.

I will put you down for that number.

Prices vary a lot, in different parts of the world. Over here I'd guess around 500 EUR max.
Over there it could easily be 4-5 times more expensive. I don't want to repeat other offers, so lets go with $2437

GOOD GOD! I didn't see the damage to the tank, OUCH! And all that other stuff? No wonder I'm so scared of dropping my Street Glide - I have every reason to be!

The tank was a surpised to me too but they loekly found some damage to the tank that could not be seen. For example, the saddle bag lid got a good scratch in it from where a nice passerby helped upright the bike. I think his medic alert bracelet did it. So the tank could have gotten a scratch from my wallet chain or maybe the fuel pump system shifted enough to make a bend near the filler.

This is wild. I'm shocked it's so much. When I wrecked my Vaquero, it spun 360 degrees on both sides [pirouetted, flipped, pirouetted again in the other direction]... and the damages were only like $7,500. Outer fairing, both saddlebag lids [clamshell bags], engine guard, bag guards, floorboards, exhaust, levers, grips, basically everything on both sides, but not the tank.

The outer fairing was $1,600 shipped from Maw Kaw, pre-painted.

Crikey! I could buy three Sprint STs for that much!.... It might even cover the cost of keeping my one on the road so far....:D

From the photos (on a phone) I only thought it was a few scratches that would buff out.
I suspect Harley's here in the US get special treatment? No cut corners. In 2019 my 2014 had to wait for parts to be painted by Harley's paint shop.

I had a crash on one in 2009. It tweaked the frame so total loss. My insurance paid a few grand above the used value of the bike.

Yet when it comes to cars the same insurance uses recycled parts and regular body shops. The cost of my bike insurance is a heck of lot cheaper than my car.

Go figure.

Yes, I see the SAME stuff around here! I was SHOCKED when they didn't total my Vaquero... and looking back, I should've pushed back on them. That bike never rode right afterwards... or it was all in my head. Either way, I learned a lot, so it was worth it.

As for frame tweaks totaling a bike - I bet it has to do with the labor and the risk of something being misaligned or not reinstalled properly during the frame replacement, so the insurance companies just total it out.

Thw most common place to check a Harley for frame damage is look where the highway bar mounts near the neck. If the gussets have deformation then bike went down really hard.

It might be that way for other brands too.

Thanks - that's good to know!
