I'm trying to do a video once a week however, the weather here is going to be crap for a while. So I have a video on cleaning the chain.
Chain maintenance has been beaten to death so I'm wondering is it even worth it to upload it? I don't want my channel to go dormant for more than a week, but the weather isn't going to cooperate this week.
What would you do?

I guess the real question is...would you want to make a chain maintenance video? If you feel like making the video, I say go ahead and just do it. A lot of videos have been beaten to death but people do them anyways because they still feel the urge to create and share. If you don't want your channel to go dormant, then a chain maintenance video is something nice to have for those times when you haven't created anything else. I say, just go for it. Well...only if you want to make it haha.

Yeah, i aggree with the others, Just DO IT.

Their may be a few out their, But NOT the way YOU would doit??
So their is NOT enough chain maint. Vids out there?
Do it differently, maybe google the MOST enviromental way and Vid that (DAMM shoulda used that one myself lol)

Anyway, i reckon go for it, but theirs also LOTS more maintenance YOU can do before summer, Drain/Change Brake fluid (then Bleed em), Pull-apart what you dare then clean under it, Lubricate speedo/tacho/brake/clutch cables, Check pad wear, Test and service battery, do an Oil change/filter, even Video your 'Man-Cave' or workshop?, make a '2014 Coming soon' Vid, Rides youd love todo, even just Vid a Q+A segment??

Stax you could do??
> : )

I don't know what's better (or maybe worse), to leave your channel with no content for weeks or uploading just for the sake of keeping the content flowing while putting less attention to quality.
You have to decide about that, take into account what you'll get from each situation.

As much as i agree, the basic maintenance vids have been done to death, same goes with the B-Grade how to wheelie a bike etc compared to good ones. i could go on and on.

However,

The flip side ( as i see it is )

Maintence videos are Bike specific...

we have the Hornet, they are rare and Maintenance videos of Hornets are generally not going to grab many views BUT it does attract hornet riders.
So id say do it, but leave the title to something like " Chain Maintenance on Honda Hornet "

Just try to keep it streamlined and not longer then 5 mins

well thats my opinion
Hope this Helps.

It's always nice to see videos on how other people do something I would say upload it as long as you have some kinda of "trick" or "secret" to how you do it otherwise it would just seem like a video to upload a video.

I know how bad it is with weather sometime I personally will ride in weather but I won't really vlog in it. I like to do a couple of videos on a ride and save them all. Think about a few topics you would like to vlog about and then go out and make a couple of videos out of a 1 hour ride I can make enough vlogs to put out 2-3ish vlogs for two weeks just keep in mind about quality. I'll do a few vlogs and out of the 6 I make I may only decide I want to post 4 and then remake the ones I didn't feel turned out good I find this keeps me posting regularly on schedule but doesn't let my quality suffer. Also a posting schedule helps a bunch! pick a few days and assign the days topics carry around a notebook in your tank bag/backpack look at the topic make a vlog and continue until you made a few videos crossing them off as you go, then feel free to enjoy riding the rest of your ride and to vlogs spontaneously.

Ive been away from my bike for a while and haven't made any vids. But back in the summer i made a few, uploaded them as private. Then i just release them over time. Im only releasing 1 a month at the moment since its just enough to cover me while im away. If people sub to you then they should come back to watch your vids. As for finding new people, well thats what this website is for isnt it???
