I crashed! Ouch. Leg. Pain.
Someone decided to overtake the car coming towards me about 10 foot away from me. on a 40 mph road. In the wet.
It had just started raining so the road was like candlewax and this asshat decided he wanted to gain 2 inches of tarmac and over took a car. Clearly he did not look because somehow he did not notice the bright fudging orange bike with the main beam on less than 20 foot away from him. I had three choices. Brake and crash, don't brake and get hit or try to swerve. I chose the later. I went right to the curb and scraped the wheels up (no rim damage) I almost lost it over the left onto the pavement but managed to correct it but over corrected and went down on my right. I had all my gear on apart from trousers (stupid I know. They were wet.) I shredded my right leg, everywhere else was fine. My bike slid about 30 foot with me under it along the road, I know this because I went back and where the foot peg and handle bars went there are two big scratches along the road. Everyone apart from the overtaker stopped until I got up then they all fucked off, so I could get no witnesses but I thought its ok, I had the camera on. When I hobbled to work with a bent and twisted bike I looked at the drift to find it had ran out of battery and only got 4 seconds of my ride -.- Dammit. However, my bike was saved by the foot peg, rear brake lever and handle bars. the fairing doesn't have a scratch. After work I spent 3 hours dismantling and unbending the bits and now its good as new.
I have whiplash though, I think. I cant move my right side too good.
Also my rear brake lever was bent like nobodys business. it took 45 mins to bend it back it was almost at a right angle in 3 places.
Anyway, ramble over.
