Internal Gopro Mic?

Has anyone had any success getting any sort of decent sound out of this thing? Its not always convenient/possible to mic it up especially if you're playing with angles...

I tried the skeleton back door and glued some dead cat material on, while it improved slightly it still had that awful sound...

Here's what i'm talking about, too tight to mic (my leg would have hit it on descents)

I make my videos with just that internal mic. Well my random review videos not my vlogs. What I think I would do in your case is get a cheap mic and just tape it to the frame somewhere and just reroute/tape the cord as you move the camera. I'm sure it would only take a few seconds. I would keep the mic high up on the frame though probably right around the steering stem and just route the cable to the camera and tape to frame.

I actually use that cam for secondary angles, primary comes from the chest mount with an external mic
