Insurance makes no sense (minor rant)

Been looking at the Daelim Roadwin motorcycle and insurance is very affordable at £360 P/A...... However using the registration of a roadwin....they come back as a Roadsport and costs about £530 P/A. WTF is this lol, the bike literally says roadwin on the side.

Any advice as to how i can get the insurance for the more affordable price? seems unfair they charge more because they get the name wrong.

Am assuming you are trying the compare type websites to get a quote? Best thing to do is phone up the best few from the results and actually talk to someone. I'd also confirm with the seller that the bike has been registered correctly.... and if it hasn't, then walk away and find a different bike to buy.

Maybe someone used the VIN of another bike or perhaps a rebuild or Frankenstein bike is what is going on?

As Hippo has already said phone around. But first check the logbook (V5) to see what its registered as. Whilst your looking at check the chassis number/VIN number and engine number. If they line up with whats printed on the logbook then it's possibly been registered wrong. Then it would be a case of contacting DVLA but honestly I think that would be more bother than its worth.

I’ve been with just motorcycles for over six years, I’ve claimed a total loss (theft) and still with them. One year they came up silly pricey and told them to not bother renewing, they called me back and halved it because they got a detail wrong etc.

Give them a Twinkie maybe?
