I see folks do giveaways

Well I see folks do giveaways and wondering if I should do one and when. Also what to give lol. I am sitting at 298 subs. But prob should do one at 500 I’m guessing. No idea. What do you guys do if anything at all?

I’m asking myself the same question, the sooner you do it the sooner you get people interacting with you. Do something people could use, cam mounts, mics, grips, Sena, helmet? Stickers? For sure the better the giveaway the more interaction.

Then it’s all about capitalizing on it and posting, getting people to share, like, subscribe and tagging others. I really wanted to give away my drag car if my channel ever got big enough, huge. For now, I ended up buying 2 helmets, due to COVID my local shop said no returns. I’ll give the one that fits worse away.

Anybody with any more ideas where to post and how to pump up your giveaway?

Lets be honest here. There are plenty of motovlogers out there who give away entire bikes, are you really going to compete with that.

I wouldn't bother giving anything away till you get to the million mark.

I can give away a hour flight in a plane. And let the person fly it hahah

If your channel was about flying then it might work.

I think you really have to think about what your doing when you do a giveaway.

Firstly the video is dead once the giveaway is done. So you need to make sure you can get something decent out of it straight away.
Secondly, what is the winner going to do for you? Most likley not much as chances are they are already watching your stuff anyway.

I think giveaways work, however it can be very short lived. It also might give you more subscribers while the giveaway is going on, but these new subs might never watch your channel again.

Not saying you shouldnt, just that you need to have a plan of action or else it may cost you more money than its worth.

I'd suggest getting some channel stickers made and offer them to anyone who wants one at your 500 sub vid, that is a better way to say thanks to those you have.
The "prize" type giveaways will do a small channel very little good, and the cost vs gain is not likely to be worth it.
Something I've found in even giving away sticker is the cost can mount up when you factor in international shipping.... and even if your channel was monetised, at our sizes you will still be out of pocket.

I am in the process of doing my 1000 subscriber giveaway. Winner gets there choice of any shirt on my teespring, a one of a kind custom mug, stickers and I going to probably toss in a $50 revzilla card. I know giveaways are a double edge sword but I do think it allows you to connect with your viewers and makes you more personable.

A few years back I was heavily involved in a Cigar Review Website and we had a great relationship with manufacturers. From time to time they would send product to give away with no strings attached. "Here is a box of cigars to give away to your audience - just do your thing!"

Those product giveaways were always a bit tricky. There would be a blip of activity / subscriptions from people trying to win free stuff but it had a tendency to be short lived. In an effort to make the giveaway more meaningful we tried going another direction and hosting contests to get visitors more engaged. Entries dropped off significantly (the more work you make people do the less likely they are to participate) but the cool part was that they seemed more engaged because it was more meaningful.

I think that if I were going to do some type of giveaway on my channel I would try and make it interactive to engage with the community. I'm not sure what that would wind up looking like but my goal would be to pick up high quality subscribers (people who would genuinely want to comment and share versus those just entering in the hopes of being randomly selected).

The value of the prize doesn't have a direct affect on how successful the giveaway is. In some instances I've had better results (and a lot more fun) giving away a $10 Amazon Gift Card than I have a $200 box of cigars. So I wouldn't go crazy with an expensive giveaway - instead I'd focus on finding a way to engage your audience and make sure they had fun in the process.

At 144 subs I don't feel like I'm anywhere near "giveaway" level yet, but I like the idea of it. For now I'm just focusing on making better videos more consistently, but sure in time I'd like to get some stickers made, maybe sell T shirts or mugs if I get anyone asking for stuff like that. If that ever happens then I'd likely giveaway free merchandise or maybe some gift cards.

If I ever get to 500 subs maybe I'd do a giveaway as a celebration event!

I did my first giveaway at i think 200 subs, or something like that.
Ended up a box of regional treats, snacks and memorabilia etc.

Ended up in the US, so a lot of that stuff was something Triumfant (if i remember correctly) had seen probably ;)
Was definitely fun to do so.
Also had a sponsored give away, more prizes, but also more random stuff xD
