I knew I couldn't contain my gear obsession....

Where's my coffee?
So, when I took my hiatus, I sold off all my gear. My wife used to give me shizz because I was always buying new stuff. She joked that we needed a walk in closet just for my gear collection. Lol!

I thought I could keep it at bay this time. That was in fact determined to be a bold faced lie! lol! Grabbed another jacket today. It was part self preservation, because we skipped Spring and went straight to hot summer, and I about died in my Cortech on Saturday. So I picked up a mesh Alpinestars. Had a red version of it before, got it in white and black this time because 50% off and no hi viz version in my size. Lol!

And while I was there, had a look at helmets. My god, did I have a helmet fetish before! I had about 15 of them. Having just 1 is giving me anxiety!

And of course, she looks me dead in the face and says "Ok, you have 3 jackets now, 2 sets of riding pants, multiple gloves, boots... What are you going to do if something happens to your helmet you dork!"

I think she just gave me permission.... Gents, do I bite and grab another lid? lol!

Get another helmet! I kept my old helmet when I got my new one, but it's way old, so I don't wear it anymore.

I also own 2 jackets - one for winter, one for the other 3 seasons. And a pair of gloves for each season. And, 1 pair of boots for all 4 seasons. And that's about it for m/c gear.

I usually get rid of mine after 5 years. But I used to buy about 1 every couple months. It's too much fun! I found one I want, but it's a last year model and finding my size is turning into a challenge. Icon Airframe Turbo Lover. It's 80's cheesey awesomeness!

I kept my last one like 8 years. I have such troubles finding gear that fits that I had my boots for 10 years before finding suitable replacements. The helmet is the same thing - Alien Mother and I share a head shape.

I will always keep my first motorcycle helmet, purely for sentimental purposes.

I have 2 jackets, 1 for my sports bike obsession and a leather jacket for riding the Harley. Definitely want me some Harley boots, pricey but quality! Luckily for me weather is fairly consistent in Ireland, crap, cold and wet, but consistent! :D

Dude, those Harley boots are NO JOKE! That's what I have, and they cost me around $150 USD... but oh so worth it! They are vented, but even in near-freezing temps, with soft lower covers on my Glide, they were FINE. I was kinda worried they'd have my feet freezing, but they only ever got cool, which is awesome. The traction in them is really good. I haven't had them for a full year yet, but they seem to be holding up well.

My half helmet is a Harley one too, with a built-in drop visor, and it was only $135 USD I think. Also well worth it, as it's comfortable, fits my head, and that visor is coming in handy.

Before we were required to have steel toes, I ran those HD boots for work all the time! Tried Red Wings, and Caterpillar, and all sorts of other expensive boots, and they were junk in 6 months. Those HD boots lasted me 4 YEARS and I only retired them because of the steel toe thing. Those things are no joke! And all day comfy too!
