What do you mean by Partner? Do you just meant you are monetizing your videos had have your adsense account activated?

oh sorry, figured it was all the same haha

I mean when you get paid (pennies) for your videos
I joined with the RPM network

You do know you don't have to be a partner to monetize your videos these days right? The only thing joining a network will do is give them a percentage of the pennies you earn.

My videos are monterised, so far i have earned...Hang on let me just calculate this... 4m+6m.... carry the 1... Ok So far I have earned fuck all!

I am and so far iv earned a percentage of the smallest unit of currency in England

the only reason I did it was for custom thumbnails, personally I think it looks so much better

Heck yeah, love custom thumbnails.

I am a YouTube partner, just not a partner with any of the networks. People that partner with networks usually don't have any problem monetizing videos even if they have some copyrighted stuff in it. RPM huh? Guess you are partnered with the same network as bakerxderek!

you can get custom thumbnails without partnerships :d

Yea... I thought you just have activate the monetize feature in order to get thumbnails...probably the only reason why I monetize my vids. I don't even set them to play the ads.

I've seen the partnership popup in my settings but haven't activated it yet.

Everyone is partnered now, there is no major advantage to joining a network bar the ones that do gaming etc as they will enable you to use copyrighted game material and monitize it.

As for extras it seems to come with time, the longer you use youtube the more features seem to unlock on your account.

As for making money, I make a decent return on my tutorial videos but piss poor on the bike ones, even though the bike videos have more total views!

My other channel is monetized and trickles in a couple of bucks a year. Nothing to quit my job over or extend the mortgage on. lol

it doesnt hurt to do it but youll need a fair few views and then people to hit the ads to get anything worthwhile from it.

get into a fight, have an accident, become a hot chick, do those wierd cut to answering yourself from other positions with another cut to an acted out scene of the topic etc etc and get hundrededs of thousands of views and maybe you can make some play money.

Like ive mentioned on another thread, one should be doing this for fun, not to make money or get popular. these are the bonus's that you might end up with while having fun with a simple youtube hobby.

Give it time mate, think of it as a long term investment. I know someone (not a motovlogger) who earns $70k+ a year just from YouTube alone, his missus is similar with her account. YouTube is their job now! He said that the first couple of years were slow, then gradually it built up to where he is now, 5 years later after he started. It is great to earn a living doing what you love, but these things take work and time.

Ok, a bit of a google search tells us that when you make an account and enable the monetize option you are by default partnered with Youtube Partner Program. You can then apply to any of the below and be accepted, or you can hope for an invite to any of another hundred groups. My guess is that it may be worthwhile if youtubing is going to be a large part of your time and effort. The right partner will add more relevant adverts to your channel gaining you more revenue but they in turn take a larger percentage of the profit. For those of us just having fun.... I dont know. I doubt I would bother.

There is also the Boom network Nerb, which is aimed at Aussies and Kiwis. I looked at it and the Socialblade network which puts you in RPM.

Personally, I don't know if it is worth the effort of joining a network. I looked into reviews of them but most of the info from real people is outdated since Youtube started allowing us to access the extra benefits with the click of a button. All the video reviews were spouting things like custom thumbnails and other stuff that I already have. There are surely other more experienced motovloggers out there that must have weighed it all up and have experience with being in a network that could chime in here.

I would love to hear whether it truly is worth it or not! :D

We started with our Auto Racing videos and now doing more motorcycle stuff since its our hobby. We were approached by The GT Channel to become partners...so far they have posted up one of our videos...its done more than six times the view on that video than we did on our own...so i'm kind of excited to see where this takes us! ;)

I am a Partner with RPM, Before that i was with SocialBlade.

All these companies say they offer this and that etc etc.. All they do everynow and then is offer a few tweeks here and there for certain videos etc. U get emails when they find people that have stolen ure vids ( reposted ) - sometimes they get more well known channels to leave a comment on ure video or like it.

Overall they also Offer a Higher CPM per 1,000 views etc, some anywere from $1.30 to $5.00 - thats add deepening ( meaning its the add itself and how good the add was that determines if people watch the trailer or click the add)

I personally. After being a partner for a few years... I dont believe its worth it, I am considered one of RPMs Top Tier channels. meaning i am in the TOP of most highly paid..

IN SHORT FOR ME:

1: Odd email saying, this is a good video idea ( when its generally SHIT, or distasteful OR not a video id make )
2: a email from the guy telling you to change a thumbnail because so, or here are some better video tags.

NOTHING THAT YOU CANT NO DO YOURSELF.!!!! Pretty much just a guy who looks over what u have done, and then says, mabye this or mabye that..

I wont partner again with these other companies unless i am 100% convinced that they can offer me things that they can PROOVE I NEED THEM.
most want to ride ure cock hard and milk you for 20% of you income.

YOU SHOULD ONLY PARTNER WITH THOSE 3RD PARTY COMPANIES IF: you have under 700 subs and can not get a FULL partnership with YouTube yet..

I may go to BOOM MEDIA as they have been sending me so many emails, if i did go to them i check out dozens of their represented channels and ask for legit records of channel growth prior to them bringing on that person, then look at the content that person has made / based on video types / based on overall feel of that user.

Hope this helps,
