How Easy/hard Was It For You To Start?

Title says it all.

Me personally, it comes naturally because I talk to myself quite a bit. Not psycho type shit, just general stuff. I'll talk to myself about what I need to do when I get off work. Like making a mental note, but speaking it as well. Makes talking into a mic, alone, that much easier.

What about you guys?

I grew up playing online video games and talking to other people over a mic, I'm used to things like this. Shoot even if no one was talking back, that's the best practice! In time we keep increasing our public speaking skills doing things like this and we don't even know it. I have always talked to myself! haha!

Yeah, I've been doing the whole online gaming for years now as well.

If you had said to me that vlogging increases your public speaking skills before I had given it a go I wouldn't have believed you but it does!

I am in the process of putting out my third vlog and while editing the clogs I have noticed so many things which I want to improve on!!

In terms of how difficult it is to start. It was ok, definitely wouldn't say it was easy.....especially when it comes to topics. Also quality, I am a bit of a perfectionist so the number of vids I have deleted as I wasn't happy with is insane.

I hear ya. I have 4 vlogs out now. 2 of which have voice and the other 2 are just rides. But the amount that I have deleted is nuts. I have probably 2 hours of content that I didn't like and threw it out.

I also have always played online games until now that is since I never have time. The hardest thing for me is getting good topics and video quality because I am also a perfectionist a bit and can't stand to just upload something that looks like crap. I record every single time I ride but I delete a huge amount of footage that never gets used.

I delete over 90% of what I record, because it's boring, or the sound is bad, or because I lose track of what I'm saying and sound like a total idiot. I did the math and I keep about 7% or so of what I record. I'm always saying things like "Fucking Asshat" or "Stupid Drunk Bitch" even when I'm not recording, but when the camera's on and I know I'm making a vlog I feel more like I'm talking to someone so I try to be more conversational.

My wife tells me that I'm my best friend on the road. Haha. I guess it's not a lie. Even when I'm riding alone I don't feel alone. Makes the ride more fun.

Personally I think starting will be easy. It will be continuing with it that I see as my own issue. Not sure where I will find the time to do much more other than ramble on.

Sometimes rambling is good. I enjoy the ones where there is no set subject. Sometimes it's boring, but other times it's pretty entertaining. One of the guys I can't stand to hear ramble is a top motovlogger right now. Not mentioning any names, but the guy clearly has ADHD (as do I, but not as bad) and he rambles for the first 5 minutes before he ever gets to the subject. Gets very annoying.

I found starting was quite easy for me.
I've listened to what my audience say they like and so I've moved away from topic vlogs and more into just riding and commentating on things that happen during the ride.
I'm not sure what it's like vlogging on the road but I find that for me at least it's very hard to keep a train of thought while dealing with obstacles etc while riding offroad.
I also don't use most of what I film, I must have 50+ hours of unused footage sitting on my hard drive ;)

I was actually still experimenting on my setup when I made the first motovlog, it was totally impromptu. I don't usually talk to myself (maybe not out loud anyway), so it was a challenge.

I still believe I really suck at this. :)

I found it easy, the hardest part was findng the money and getting the wife on board.
I record everyride, every day all the time. The bike is the only way i have of getting around. I delete about 95% of what i record on the way to work and back and keep about 95% of any vlog that I do. I try and plan what points I want to make key things i need to say and print them off and slap them on top of my tank bag.

Well I just like to upload observations and such, the talking is hard for me with out long pauses and such
That's basically what I upload. Just random stuff along the way. Sometimes I'll have a topic. But mostly it's just whatever I feel like saying. Haha. I go places too. I took a hint from Suburban Delinquent on that part.

I record every time I get on my bike. Just to do it you never know when that moment is going to come

For sure. My last video I uploaded had 2 people almost fuck my day up. One was a pickup that decided to stop on a dime and I was topping a hill. The other was a guy that almost turned out in front of me

WHere i live we have tweakers that ride bicycles and cross the street where and when ever they please. I always pull the RJ REV bomb on them
