How do you guys handle spammers?

WildOn2s Vlog
I just posted my first video yesterday and a guy I know posted in comments a link of a video he did with me. But different niche. It was aviation. But I messaged him nicely since I know him and told him literally “ hey you already spamming my comments?!” Lol. He has over 3k subs. I just posted first video with currently on not 15 subs ‍♂️. But do you guys do or say anything to other vloggers who spam ?

If YouTube flags a comment as spam, I'll investigate if it is or not, if I deem it spam I just delete it, if they repeat the same I block them. If it is someone asking for sub4sub, I normally allow the post, but don't thumbs up or down it, then drop in a comment telling them I don't do sub4sub and invite them to unsubscribe my channel if they have no intention of watching my content.
I'd suggest in your case, that you ask him to give you a shout out on his channel, if he is a mate he'll do so, if he isn't, just delete any posts he makes with links, he'll get the hint! :-)

BTW, don't forget to add your social media links into this linked thread:

That seems strange for a big creator with that much sub to go and spam a very small channel with content that is not directly related. Really not cool.

@HippoDrone has a good point on asking them to push your channel. I would ask for more than a shoutout though. How about them being a regular guest on your channel so you pull on their 3k subs in return for them pulling on your 15?

As far sub4sub. Remember it is a YouTube whipping.

>BUT - If your content blows the views/watchtime out the water then you considering sub4sub is tempting since your got to have so many of them too to get monetized.

You could watch your small sub count and if it drops, cross check with who sub4sub with and if they left yours, you can pay the same respect back. That should help keep folks just subbing to you until you sub back and then leaving.

Man, this is what I don't like about the whole YouTube thing. you should sub if you are going to watch their content. If you're not going to watch their content, why bother?

I don't get it.

So you might maybe reach out to other people who are subbed by them? All the time/effort playing these mind games would be better off spent making videos.

Welcome to the business side of creating. ;)

It was much less of a hustle before the adpocolypse. Some of us were able to just create to share with folks and be compensated just enough as beginning channels to pay for gas and some gear upgrades.

Then the dark times came. The masters at YouTube set benchmarks and the one that burned me was I have some videos that blow watch time and views far beyond what YouTube wanted but because I regularly promoted my stuff to the various audiences, there was no need for those folks to sub, click a bell, or wish upon a star to know when my content was coming out.

So sub4sub can be like a "professional courtesy" to small channels but it is forbidden by the YouTube powers.

Agreed. I want my subs to actually watch. That’s why you see those counts they have paid for subs. They have high number subs but low views lol

Maybe your friend was just trying to be funny, but I don't think that comment would hurt you though, however if you don't like it then it's your right to speak up about it. I have had randos (random people) that just came and commented for people to sub them/watch their stuff.. Usually I just ignore it, I don't think a lot of people will actually read or click their link, but if they get obnoxiously annoying then I will just report it.

Ya I just didn’t want it to be a habit. This was my first video. So in my head I was like are you going to do this each video post? I don’t mind helping folks but it was first video and he has over 3k subs lol

With the bots spams i just reply thank you en ignore them.
Comment is still a comment, and they don't response any further ;)

Ignore the bots. I personally try to watch who I sub. sub4sub people sometimes help to grown your channel in the beginning but don't count on it. I personally want true viewers and people who actually watch me for my content.
