How do you come up with a topic?

I have noticed that sometimes when I turn the camera on to make a vlog my train of thought goes out the window and I cant seem to come up with a topic! How does everyone else find things to talk about? Like the other day I had about a 10 min video to upload but then realized my camera was looking at the ground the whole time and I had to scrap the vid!

I go for a ride and see what springs to mind, some people write it down and plan it a little more, mine tend to be more like diary entries :P spur of the moment

what you could do is wright down a list of things on a piece of paper to vlog about and then go though that list one by one and then that way it is easyer for you to remember what you want to talk about the next time you go out vlogging or what chuckles said.

I just film my rides, and upload them, then me, my dad, and a random person watches them. I suspect it's my dad giving me the thumbs downs, but I can't prove anything.

I'm a generally angry person (shocking, I know..) so I just read through facebook or twitter, or watch some daytime tv. That usually gets me going well enough to bitch about some things on camera. If that fails I'll just ramble about whatever for an hour or so and then edit out the worthy bits. One thing that will really help, film every second of every ride. Whenever something interesting comes to mind, start talking about it..

good points everyone!!! thanks! yeah I normally plan out what I am gonna talk about but seems like lately every time I go to make a video its raining and it makes me sad! And then I remember how awesome my bike is and I get awesome! True story! lol

I personally have a few ways that i do this.

I look at the videos that are already out, or videos that i feel could be better,

i then go ahead and "ponder" about it for a few days,

from their i start writing down little key notes.

a few days later i do a vlog

yeah I don't think I'm technically a vlogger then, I'm a biker who happens to have a camera I think :)

I have an open word document on my mac, and if i think of something i write it down.
when i need the list, i print it off and put it in my tank bag then pick a topic whilst riding :)

I tend to ride with mates, eventually someone falls off, there is much laughter and banter and thats about it. Im not a true Vlogger as such, but occasionally things spring to mind. Sometimes the harder you think, the harder it is to think...

THIS. I just generally screw around on my bike until I think of something that sets me off. Then I start ranting about it.

I think of things all day at work, then make a list of what I want to talk about, with little notes to remind me of key points. Then it goes dark and I can't go out :( haha but even when I do go out I end up talking about something completly different to what was planned... Best to just ride around for a while then ice your mind is relaxed just press record and let the words come.
