Helmet Mohawks

Hi chaps, I thinking of getting a Mohawk for my helmet, for two main reasons:
1. Apparently you get notice more, this can only be a good thing (Once people notice the Contour on the side of my heed they back off)
2. When filtering in traffic, there is a lesser likelihood of someone picking a fight with you (My gear is all black, tinted visor, add a black spiky Mohawk and you become slightly intimidating)

What do you guys think about helmet Mohawks? Do you like them? Hate them? What do you think when you see other bikers wearing them (trouble makers/squids/etc)?
Or do you laugh because deep down inside you know it's a funny and that bikers are the best people on the planet

If you already own a Mohawk please tell me your experiences.

P.S. I'm not intending to go all NT8 with helmet decorations

I like them, like you my helmet and all my gear is black, my bike is also all black, ma beard, hair and tattoos are also all black lol

I was looking for one a while back, but cant find any in the UK that sell the one i like, and my paypal account wont let me buy anything in a foreign currency so i cant buy one from abroad land

I also can't find the one I want in the UK or France, all from the USA. Goggled it for hours, nothing. Yep, next upgrade is a black bike

I have one, its a bit of fun, don't always wear it, people who aren't bikers seem to like it.

I have one like the above. Black rubbery spikes, only I cut mine in half so it only covers the top of the helmet and secured it with velcro. Those things catch crosswinds pretty well, and it's nice to be able to take it off while out on a nice 9hr ride.

I -definitely- get noticed more because of it. Little kids point and stare.. Just yesterday I was in a Honda dealer getting an oil filter and a little girl came up and asked if she could touch it. I think it's great.

As for judging other bikers, I tend to judge them off the appearance of their bike and the gear they wear before I care about whether they have a mohawk or not.


BTW, for anyone wanting to get one, if you want to work something out, PM me. I can act as a middle man if you're trying to buy something that's only seemingly available in the US. Promise not to try to make a buck off it either.

LOL, guess I will be part of the club now, I have see on other forums people looking down on Mohawks, very aggressively. I have a camera stuck to my helmet and I look like the Borg from Star Trek, may as well add the Mohawk.

I have the warhawk on mine, (same as Trinth's) and usually it's a conversation starter. I've not seen anyone else around here wearing one. So until I see a 60 year old fat man on a moped donning one, I'm gonna keep mine on.

I do like the Warhawk rubberised ones but the fake hair ones always look naff at speed and the final nail in the coffin was on my ride in this morning was seeing the fair weather Harley rider sporting one. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

I think the only person that pulls em off is NT8 who just goes way over the top with it all to the point its a scary joke.
