That would be awesome! What I was getting at with the Glass post I put up a while ago.

Not a fan of having to buy a helmet from a tech company though; would rather it could be integrated into your own...

Don't think I would invest - no matter how much I want to have the technology! :s

Yeah I read that article today too, pretty interesting. It does look sort of distracting though but when they changed it to the minimalist view for higher speeds that was pretty cool. I'm sure in a few years the prices will be considerably lower.

I still wouldn't buy. One reason why I love the bike is because there is no distrsctions. I cant even drive with the Sat Nav because I end up arguing with it.

They're not the first to try this and unlikely to be the last. It's a good idea as such but whether it will take off or not I'm unsure.

Apart from navigation there isn't much more information that I need to know about apart from my speed or gear I'm in maybe. Even then most navigation instructions are received via audio and how would you set up the navigation? Via a sat nav anyway I imagine, so it's just one more expensive gizmo.

Hopefully they haven't invested their own money in the project.

I've found that I really don't need to 'see' my GPS in order to tell where I'm going. I have a tank pouch with a USB charger snaked into it, which charges my phone. My phone stays tucked in there and gives me audio directions via the bluetooth headset in my helmet (which I added to my own helmet instead of needing to buy another helmet!). The voice inside my head tells me where to go!

Like others, I have a few concerns about this. For one, not every helmet brand fits every person. What if this particular lid doesn't fit my head shape? What about all the folks who will buy a poor fitting helmet just because of gimmicks like that? Poor fitting helmets are almost as bad as no helmet! Not to mention, who knows how good it'll actually happen when it counts... (If motorcycles didn't crash I wouldn't even wear a helmet! Some folks forget you're not wearing it for high tech gadgets of fashion, it DOES have a purpose!)
