Have you ever ridden a cruiser?

Most of the vloggers here seem to have every other type of bike except cruisers, but have you tried one or owned one? How did you like it?
I never had before, but had a chance to do a demo ride on a Victory cruiser last week. I hated it! I'm pretty sure it was the fault of that specific style of bike (really wide tire, barely any rear suspension travel, hard seat with weird position) but what a bad first experience! I felt every little imperfection in the road.
I never got a chance to try the other touring style baggers, but they looked a little better.

Let me know your experiences with cruisers, and if i should give them another shot.

My first two bikes were cruisers. I have an issue with the seating position though, puts too much pressure on my tail bone which makes it immensely uncomfortable after a rather short time. I loved riding them though, so much easier on the knees and back. Almost never got cramps either. Sure they don't handle worth a crap and the brakes are usually rather weak, but they're not intended for sporty riding anyway. If it weren't for that stupid snowboarding wreck I had 12 years ago I'd probably still be riding one.

It's a site-wide quota I think. You're most likely going to have to use a hosting site like imgur or photobucket.

A cruiser (VERY very non standard Xv1100), Pre-war racer (out of a Sr500), a VERY non standard 'Modernized' GPz600r, tryin to get the ZXr750 running again (off road tooooo long, now fuel is jelly in carbs), and a few other 'projects' for later when im bored lol.

I want to do a Vlog eventually on the different builds, for the forums associated with brands, so KEEP hassling me, ill do it 'one-day'. I promise

If you lookin for mine in this Vid. It'll be the one in the camera more, my mate came with us, so he stuck behind me mostly.
Im in front of him 1st roundabout, im also the one pulling up behind him at the end of the ride.
Its a 'tiny' bit different, has NO battery under the seat, its going under the swing-arm(hidden), and their is a chrome 1.5ltr tank in its place(copper w/Brass fuel lines now).
Its yet to be raked 3 or 6deg, havent decided on angle yet. Clean-up the front Triples (too 'clutted (wiring, cables etc)), and then thatll be it?? Maybe lol

Boulevard is a pretty wide open term. I think there's 10 different Boulevard models. I had an M50 that, oddly enough, outperformed a Sportster 1200 in every way. That damn sportster would -not- turn. Was ridiculous really.

Clone - yes. But close inspection shows that the Victory is much better finished and less "crude". I hate both, but if having to make a choice I'll roll with the Victory. Both bikes, as are most cruisers, prehistoric compared to the modern sport bike or sport-tourer. That's OK if that's what you want, no problem.

Nice bike. Not sure I'd go with one for me, a C90 would work better, but that little 800cc twin put down some pretty mean torque, and the shaft-drive was just plain awesome. I loved being able to step the tail out going into 2nd gear too, especially with hard, shitty, touring tires on it.

The closest thing to a cruiser ever ridden by me was a Yamaha YBR125. That was back in 2007.

My first motorcycle was a c50. It was a 2003 though so not a boulevard yet, was actually called a Volusia.

I've only ridden cruises and it'll probably stay that way too. My bike is still my triumph rocket iii that I bought years ago.

I started with an early '81 Honda CB650SC Nighthawk, endorsed on a Rebel 250, bought an '07 Harley Sportster 1200 Low, updated to the current '13 XL1200C 110th Anniversary edition.

As an MSF instructor I have had the experience of riding several different style of motorcycles. I have ridden just about every style of bike except the touring and sport touring.
I like my Harley. Smooth on the low to mid range with enough power for the 70 MPH freeways. Stock it can still hit triple digits.

I have a fond appreciation for the Adventure Touring bikes like the BMW GS800 and Yamaha Super Tenere, both comfortable rides and capable.

Don't settle for just one test ride either...it might not be a bad idea to see if you can rent a bike so you can get a feel for how it rides on your terms instead of the short trip test ride.
