So i have recently bought a Gopro 9.
me super happy and all...

But, with my present day editing software i have a hard time handling this footage.
Mainly because my i7 cpu is maxing out.
Now i know that some editing software is more reliant on memory, and might be better to cope with the Gopro files.

So... What editing software is better/best for GoPro footage?
Any help will be appreciated. :)

i7? Depends on generation, clock speed, etc.... I have a 9th generation i7-10750H, and with 32GB of RAM and an SSD, Davinci Resolve 17 handles it quite well, even with 3 GoPro videos in a multicam clip.

I'm sure there are editors which are easier on the computer, but that's my choice and I'm happy with it - and there are several others on this forum doing the same thing [WaltInPA, Dewey316, and Moto Mengy come to mind].

Trying out Davinci Resolve for sure.
Might do a upgrade of ram, never hurts.

CPU was 99% when editing, so i need to lower that a little bit for sure. ;)

I love Resolve - it's so flexible, and as motovloggers, we use about 10% of its functionality LOL.

Davinci is good, but it is known to use a lot of resources. You might want to also have a look into Filmora9

Hahaha, yes! Resolve will use your entire system's resources, if you let it. I have 32GB of RAM and was baffled as to why it was only using just slightly less than 18GB one day. I went into the preferences screen and it listed 17.9GB as the max it would use for Fusion [Resolve's built-in special effects studio], 23.9GB for total system memory use.

Also, it'll use 100% of your CPU and however much of your GPU it can if you buy the paid version.

There ARE, however, many ways to lower its resource-hogging, some of which I've done, many I haven't.

Well, so far i'm also running into problems with Davince.
Part of it is just that it works so differently then Magix.
I feel like i'm missing tools and options. (can you even export a jpeg for thumbnail???)

And part of it is that it ruined the quality of the footage after the render.
Something isn't going right there. (see the other post in members vlogs)
