It's always been my pet hate about gopro. I now use the senabluetooth audio pack, that's awesome sound quality and more importantly, no wires

Yeah the GoPro is really sensitive about the cable you use.
I use an external audio recorder now but it is such a faff setting it all up.

That's good to hear as when I was starting I was going to buy a cheap cable online then decided genuine would be a safer bet

I bought 2 cheap cables before going official. Glad you didn't have to learn that lesson.

I was surprised at how sloppy the aftermarket one fit in the usb port. I thought my port was actually misshapen from use and bought a new gopro one to see if it was. Nope the OEM just fits better/tighter. I suppose I'll look at it some day as the 90 deg adapter will be useful
