Go Pro Questions

Mr fish

It's not what , it's how
hello one and all
A couple of questions regarding hero 3 (which I have) I recorded my first footage yesterday and replaying it's jerky, I read I little bit and used the gopro editing thingy to convert it and it's still jerky ... I was using 1080@60fps will it make a huge difference to run 720@60fps

Question 2

How do you attach a mic and keep it waterproof (England) without Bluetooth ?

Thanks

Loads and loads of guides about using a mic with the waterproof case. You'll have to drill a hole, make it water tight as you can.

What spec is your PC? Jumpy play back tends to be a slow machine rather than the GoPro, unless you're using a crap SD card?

yea you have to be using a class 4 SD card or better otherwise you'll have the problems you are currently having

Thanks for the response

What's a class 4 ....I'm using a 32 gb micro sd and my computer is a Mac 3.2 ghz Intel

Don't know if any of this helps

It is recommended to use Class 10 or UHS1 if the camera supports it to record HD video. Think my cards will write at 10 or 20 mbps

Thanks again for the replies

How do I tell if the sd card is appropriate ?...it was supplied when I got the go pro 2 years ago

On the card will be a number in a circle, thats the class.

Looks like this:

As said before, Make sure its a class 10. Dont mess with anything lower...

Its a once off purchase.
Also, what are you using to view the videos? I find Windows media player is shit. Use vlc or gom , Hell anything else.

Cheers guys

Just had a look it is a class 4 sd card

I'm viewing it using the gopro studio ...it's ok on quarter resolution but that kind of defeats the object of HD ...will 960@100fps be better or 960@48fps

48 will be fine, 25-30 is a standard resolution, anything above is smoother. If you record at above 60 you'll chew card space up, and YT cant display better than 60fps at the moment

Well 100fps was worse so I'm going 960@48fps

I will get a class 10 as this may be the real issue :-) cheers for the advice

I've also heard sandisk cards are the most faked card ..thanks for the advice will check out the Samsung ones ....in the mean time after converting its seems 960@48fps seem to hold up ok on my card .....just have to learn how to edit :-) ....I thought I would be Steven Spielberg in a week , I'm not even the tea boy lol

You're probably better off sticking to standard resolutions like 1080p30 or 720p60 if either of those work for you.
