Ghost Sticky Pads On Fairings?

Hi all,

Want to get some cam action from behind (insert rude comments here!!),ie from the rear of the bike. Was thinking of sticking a spare drift ghost 3m sticky pad on the tail just behind the grab rail facing backwards. Just not sure it won't peel of fairing paint when I need to remove it? Anyone tried this?

I have pulled the GoPro mount stickies off my bike a few times and never pulled up paint. For a little extra help, use a hair dryer when removing to heat up the tape. They pop right off after that.

Yeah, use hair dryer and dental floss to remove from helmet, so thought it would be OK on fairing. Cheers mate.

Should be OK, but have a look at suction mounts or clamps. I've clamped a GoPro to my rear foot peg before.

As mykb93 said, use the hairdryer to soften the glue, rub any remaining stuck bits or tack with some prepsol. A good tip before sticking anything to paint surface is to give it a good wash and rub over with prepsol first, will stick stronger and help prevent damage. Also be aware if its going to be a long term stick and she sits in the sun alot then it can leave a shadow on the paint once removed.

Don't trust suction pads, did think of clamps as an alternative. Know any that are small enough to be clamped to a grab rail?

Might try the prepsol thing, cheers. We only get sun 3 days a year in the UK so sun fade won't be an issue!!

I would personally go with clamps. GoPro has the large and small clamps. Get them both. If one does not fit most likely the other one will. If you want to protect the bracket paint, use a thin rubber strip to line the part your are clamping.

This kind of thing can work. I've used a GoPro handlebar clamp mount on rear pegs before, although those generally won't fit on rails as you need space to do them up.
