Getting The Smoothest Shots Without Expensive Gear?

I'm looking to rework a few things with my intro and outro. For the ideas i have i'm going to need smooth moving shots, but all i have is my gopro hero 3+ silver and i have access to my friends Canon Rebel T5.
How could i get the smoothest moving shots? I'm not very experienced with shooting video so any tips will be appreciated!

Any sort of physical stabilizer helps. Like a steadycam or equal. I recommend the Canon over the GoPro as it has both better image quality and it's heavier which helps reduce shake.
If you have a tripod, those help. One thing I do a lot is to use some zoom and use panning shots on a tripod instead of physically moving the camera.

Beyond that, I guess folding the tripod and using it as a steadycam could help. It would make sense to me that more weight needs more effort to move, thus reducing shake.

It's 4am here though. I might be completely wrong. Experiment!

You can also consider stabilization in post. Premiere and After Effects have the "warp stabilizer" function that works really well.
