Well, kinda.

They've been taken over by a new investor who will reopen the sites at Swindon, Slough and Bolton which will be run by the old staff under the name "Mega Motorcycle Store". They will concentrate on gear and will not sell bikes, however they will auction off bikes that were left over from George White.

They "go live" on Saturday!

This is great news for us bikers, their deals were, and should be again great!

People like george white are killing off business's like Hein Gericke, undercutting them which is bad for the industry.

Considering they have been in admin & now run under another name, their prices are still the same & some of the helmet prices have gone up.

I would avoid spending any money with them. Due to them not being able to uphold their agreement. Some people are out £600 on service plans & items they havent received still.

My take on george white. Avoid.

They are not "killing people off", it's called competition, which is a good thing in industries dominated by brands.

How do you know people are still out of pocket? I'm sure if the new people have any brains they'll sort that out!

My take on Mega Motorcycle Store? a company that will keep people in their jobs and ensure the big brands don't rip us off!

I have friends that had service plans with them and had orders still waiting. Got an email saying something on the lines of unfortunatley due recent turns of events, george white has gone into admin. but didnt say anything about my friends product..

HG have been established longer than GW, for a company to just turn up on the market and sell at trade and if thats what you call competition then your wrong. No wonder they went into admin they couldnt afford half of the stuff & selling it at trade & making hardly any profit is a company going down the drain.

HG havent gone bump but they will if GW keep coming in & out of the market. This does not help established motorcycle stores.

& a job is easy to find people are fussy when a job is avaliable. They have closed 2 branches so what about the staff in them stores?

From experiance, HG have better retail knowlage & are by far one of the most helpful stores around. GW in bolton when i asked about a helmet his answer was simply. "unsure about that you may have to check online" i asked about my suit if they would have anymore in stock in the next week or 2 his answer was "dont know".

I'll be avoiding GW. & from my experiance i would advise people too, but not everone will agree.

Your opinion of george white is based on someone not knowing the stock cycles of their store??

Damn, high standards.

George Whites was the equivalent of asdas for the motorbike world. It's all good in my opinion.

If you want personal service with great advice, how about supporting your own local dealer? If you want good kit sold at hard to beat prices, go george whites/mega thingy whatnot.

You obviosuly didn't read my last post, seems you do this quite a fair amount. Everything stated above s reasons why I will be avioding them so no it wasn't "based on someone not knowing the stock cycles of their store".

You seem to write everything bar' the point. I understand everyone won't agree with my posts, or from my experiance. But, I can let people know mine & friends experiance with the company. Then they can make their own decision.

Hope you read this one this time & understand, I'm stating MY experiance with the company & not against what everyone else thinks. CB posted it & put my opinion across if you don't like my opinion I'd suggest you don't reply in future.

People seem to read what I post wrong, I'm stating my opinion, if you don't like that then fine. Don't tell me, that will just errupt into an argument of opinions which can't be won.

Have a nice day.

I think you take things a little too seriously.

You're right I don't agree with you and I think your reasons are a little on the silly side but like I said in my original post if you fancy great service and that personal touch, support your local dealer (as you are doing) and if you want good gear at cheap prices go for the supermarket equivalent and head to gw.

For the sake of saving a few dozen quid on retail I'll gladly put up with a pimple faced youth not knowing when my gear is next in.

As for your mates, fair enough, rough time for them.

Still I don't see why the boycott. Are you saying that if GW continued trading and honoured your mates service agreements you'd have carried on shopping there?

Or are you just unhappy about the personnel being as useful as the guys in any other large store?

Don't know why you also seem to think I don't read your posts, I'm pretty sure you're reading mine the wrong way though.

Haters gonna hate :/

Anyway back to the topic:

Fingers crossed this new venture works out for all involved. It's bloody good news!
