Make good content that people want to watch and want to search for.

(note: I am not good at this, myself)

Trying to game the system won't work long term, you want people to come back and want to watch more videos. The best way is to make a good product.

Good titles that people are searching for, good thumbnails that catch the eye, use the description to back up the title, use tags to back up the description and to put your video in the suggestions list next to videos you think your audience may like or be watching.
Then it is just a case of making videos that people like and watch for as long as possible.

What do you think works for you? My opinion experience

Some common "go to's"
Clickbait title - Use sparingly
Countdowns - Meh
Rankings - Easy, just remember this
Sphinx.jpg

Upload scheduling - Yep, you got to let the servers fully process before going live
Frequency of uploads - Yes, I go with 2 x per week.
Sticking with a narrow theme/ subject -

Biggest way to spoof the algorithm is the 4k trick.

From what I've seen across YouTube channels, both other motovloggers and non-motovlog content, using clickbait titles seems to get the best results compared to every other "trick". I hate it, and I don't do it myself because I just wouldn't feel good about it, but I see the results it gets for those who do it and it seems to work splendidly.

I go for a few search related videos, and pepper in my random videos between. I always try to have something in the thumbnail that's either related to, or in the video also.
Otherwise I ride out the motovlogging niche for what it is. An odd culmination of lots of differing personalities. Some people will jive with you, some won't.
Also, steer clear of click bait. Once viewers are burned they just start ignoring those channels.

Here is my experience with these:

Clickbait title : Bad, unless it just seems Clickbaity but then ends up being accurate then this is quite funny. If you want an example I can try and find one.

Open mouth facial expression: ???

(Literally) Sexy content: Sure, haha. But you won't find that on my channel. ITSKATKAM is a soft example of this.

Countdowns: If you mean lists. Cyclecruza and Yammi Noob do this and they have a lot of success but I think this strategy works better for established YouTubers.

Rankings: Same as above and have had success.

Upload scheduling: Yes! I do this. I think this helps with YouTube ranking and the actual video quality of your videos since it gives YouTube more time to process your video before you release it.

Frequency of uploads: Yes, staying relevant is always good. I upload once to twice a week.

Sticking with a narrow theme/ subject: VidIQ thinks this works. They call it Nicheing down.

I find doing reviews, unboxings and making content people are looking for helps with views. It is not always fun to make but if you are looking for views and subs this may be a good strategy.

I personally like riding around on my motorcycle, passing traffic and recording that. : D

bike reviews always perform better than anything else... and that's quite sad :D
I think the review vids get a lot of play because there are so many folks thinking about what bike they want next.

Where regular ride vids may only apply to folks that will be in that area for the route or just really really like the motovlogger.

Yep. I've unsubbed from several channels that became 100% clickbait. I get it, they've started making money, they are chasing the algorithm to keep the money flowing. Not going to blame them for that. Also not going to continue watching stuff that's no longer of interest to me.

Aaaannd. this forum's irritating edit time limit caught me.. I also added:

**edit** also my best video has been my initial review of my new bike. I made it partly out of frustration that many of the 'main' bike channels churned out the same regurgitation of marketing copy, rather than actually taking about what the bike was _like_.

Yes! I have noticed this too, where many reviews sounds the same. I'm like, did they all make their videos from the same review cliff notes?

Especially on launch day ride... Even the visuals (b rolls) are exactly the same.

You can tell to the minute when a manufacturer's embargo ends - suddenly a pile of almost identical videos appear - I assume they just cue them up in advance, ready to go.
But hey, nice if you can turn it into your day job, I'm not salty ;-)
