I pay for all of this fun by being a software developer and a consultan. At the moment I have a few people who I'm mentoring as they are either getting their educaiton or are trying to move up.
I've been somewhat successful in developing my career and lord know we need more good software developers (the industry is desperate for good developers). So by talking about how to get started I can kill two birds with one stone:
1. I help other people
2. I have a ready made excuse for riding around looking like a borg reject
I'd apperciate any questions or suggestions as to where to go with this series
