Excess Mic Cord Storage, Running wires, etc.?

I hope the pictures attached to this post.

As for now, my camera is mounted on top of my helmet. I have no room to place a GoPro mount on the chin piece due to an air vent! Because of this, I was forced to add an extra extension to my mic cord and it's become quite annoying. I taped the mic cord to the outside of the helmet (with clear tape, which is quite ugly...yet functional) to hold it in place, and I stuffed all of the extra cord into the helmet padding. Is there any proffered way to run the wires on the exterior of the helmet? What do you use besides tape? Any tips? ALSO, is the helmet padding the only way to store the extra wire?

p.s. I have both a scala-rider g9 intercom system AND my GoPro set up on my helmet, that's why I'm looking into cleaner wiring methods.

Bundle the cord tightly and wrap with velcro ties, put fuzzy side on the cam, stick it on and then just wrap a rubber band or in my case one of my woman's hair ties

Use only the smallest amount of cord needed inside the helmet. Try finding route to tightly fit inside and use some tape to keep it held down

Thanks a lot for your feedback! I went ahead and picked up some 2" Velcro straps and I'm now going to try and rewire everything for a tighter/cleaner setup.
