Ever Worry About Your Bike Being Hijacked?

Anyone ever had a hijack attempt or worried about being hijacked?

The following video shows an idiot probably just pissing about, but could have been worse.

I generally keep my cool in most situations, and I'm not sure how I'd have reacted to this one.

Sadly the comments are full of racial slurs when the problem is the attitude not the colour of the guy's skin. If I was to judge anyone approaching like that it would be on their manner and their dress sense and not ethnicity.

This is years old. I would jump off the bike and smash his face into the kerb.

I'd be happy to fix the bike if it tipped over but he wouldn't have walked away, that's for sure.

I'm not a violent person but I'm a believer of standing ground and never be made to look like a mug.

In 'Merica we all carry a gun on our hip. LOL jk. Sometimes in a bad neighborhood I do think about being mugged or bike jacked. I try to stay out of those parts...the beauty of living in a city where we had 400+ murders last year.

There were six of them. No way would you get off your bike, you would lose it and you'd lose any confrontation unless you are Jackie Chan or a professional boxer. I wouldn't have stayed there to give him the chance to come over in the first place. There are times to stand, and times to leave.

It's what you do next that counts.

I never seen that video. But it surely is smarter to get out of the way asap in that situation. The only thing I have to worry about currently is a car jacking, I hope I never have to find out how my adrenaline filled body will cope with a situation like that.

I wouldn't, it's just a bike and not worth getting stabbed over.

My gosh... I hadn't seen it. I'm not really worried about that happening to me, because my bike is not really attractive. But if it dit happen, I would just block him or hit him somehow and run. If you want to loose your bike, you get off and go hit them.

I've not had it happen but I don't run music at night so I am more aware when I stop at lights. During the day I have zero fucks because I don't normally stop because I am filtering.

If anyone went to fight him, chances are his 4 mates would have helped either put you down or stab you in the back.

If someone started walking up to me like that I would probably just run the red light.

I think the guy did the right thing. If he jumped off the bike I bet the other guys probably would have jumped in, so then it would be 5 maybe 6 on 1. As much as I would love to see himfuck them up, doesn't seem worth it. If someone wanted to steal my bike? Go for it, I have insurance; I can rebuild.

Anyone who isn't worried about it will have a lack of situation awareness. A simple thing like stopping at the fuel pump to re-fuel could be an ideal time for someone to hijack/rob you. I always watch around me even using the side mirrors to see behind me if anyone suspicious is approaching so I can be on guard/prepare to react.

The guy in the video reacted properly.

One of my coworkers got mugged at a stop light on his CBR600F4i a few years ago. He said they tried to get him off the bike but he wouldn't dismount, they instead managed to get his bookbag off his back.
