Euro Emission Regs And Leaving Europe

Morning People,
So after the crazy week that we have all had (UK), I have got to thinking with all that has happened, what will that mean to us Bikers here on our the little island in the big wide world.
So there are some Euro Regulations happening over the next 4 years, if you are seeing the reviews on new bikes they will talk about it a lot during the articles. This got me pondering a time many many years ago when the UK in general got the full power bikes from the bike companies and the other areas in the world with harsher emission regulations got a strangled version of the same machine.
This did create a need for the bikes we were getting from around the world, so bikes would be imported then exported so these countries could get our power settings etc etc etc. Is this possible again if the UK isn't in the EU, could we again get the big balls power bikes whilst the rest of the EU gets the emission regulated versions.
Just one of those things that pops into your head when you are awake in the small hours.

You should be able to import anything within reason. Fair bit an imported vehicle goes through, but bikes still don't have any emissions tests here.

I saw an article that Honda is scrapping the CBR600RR for EU next year, since sales suck and to conform to the emissions cost a bomb (according to them).

I'm not clear if this is a worldwide scrapping of their 600cc or just regional, but if I understand correctly, there will be no 600RR in their line up for 2017.

I stand corrected! I assumed the CBR650 would be an upgrade and the R/F variants would follow suit.

I think the old 600 engine is being retired due to emissions regs.

I spoke go my local Honda people and they reckon it's more to do with the licenses of. a1 a2. No real point in a proper 600 as they can't be restricted properly and those who can ride a1 gets a 1000 as they cost nearly the same

EU has made a rod for its own back

Is the 49hp thing Europe-wide then? I didn't know if that was the UK implementation or everyone.

Suppose with the rise in 500cc bikes, it would be more widespread.
