So I am thinking of doing a cross country ride, and back in the near future.

Is there anyone else here that has gone roughly 6 thousand miles in a couple weeks?

No, but I would love to ride across murica at some point in my life, I'm sure you'll have an awesome trip if you do.

Thats awesome. It is a much longer trip that I am looking at. It will take me longer than a couple hours to get out of Virginia lol.

You'd not get much enjoyment from that road. I could fibd a nice 5 hour ride near it though, lots of twisties and scenery.

I've gone north to south in California a couple times. Not cross country, but I imagine, there is not much difference between planning for a one week trip than for a multi week trip. After all, you can only carry so much gear. Despite lodging/camping and maybe a service stop; I think the planning is very similar.
