Hi guys i have a question and a nice little topic,

What is the battery life on a drift 1080p camera?
I know the ghost and ghost s have a long time but lately my camera just seems to either die or stop recording after half an hour?
which is really SHIT if im recording an hours ride.
Please tell me if im doing something wrong for it to die that fast or if thats just the battery life on my camera
Thanks a bunch

I couldn't tell you how long offhand, it might in the manual, although whatever the manual says, take off 30 minutes. If @CalmBiker logs on and spots the tag, he might be able to tell you.

How old is the camera and more importantly, the batteries though? Batteries do have a shelf life regardless of number of charges or general care. I guess the only way to be sure is to try and brand spanking battery.

I've had the camera around a year, but i haven't used it for the full year.
ill try recording on a full charge and see how that goes.
maybe its just time for an upgrade in camera?

You didn't buy it new a year ago though did you?

Run it until the battery goes flat and the camera turns off, then give it an overnight charge, it can help, worth a try anyway.

Never a bad thing a new camera though, other than paying... :)

Didn't think the 1080p was being made a year ago, thought the Ghosts had been out for a year by then?

I have 2 drift HD1080 Ghosts, one is 20 months old and one is about 5 months old. Both still record for around 2 and a half hours on fully charged batteries. It's probably not a good idea to only partly charge them and, like Lurch said, it's a good idea to run them completely flat now and then.
I also have a drift 20 hour external battery pack, I keep it in my jacket pocket and plugged into one of the cameras while I ride. On my tour last year I just rode 12 hour days filming constantly and charged everything up each night, basically I plug the 20 hour battery into a mains charged and plug everything else (remote, Sean, phone) into it while it's charging via a passive usb 4 port hub - worked a treat - each morning everything was fully charged again :)
When you said "stop recording after half an hour" that could be a faulty SD card, one of mine went weird, it's 32Gig but now always stops charging after 16Gig.
