Morning all,

Simple as the title says, do you watch TouTube ads for Motovloggers?

I watch 30 seconds of most so anyone who chooses to monetize their video gets a penny or two from it :).

What are your thoughts?

Cheers.

Depends on how I feel really! I let the little pop up ads stay as long as they're not covering captions, so almost never on random compilation clips as many titles are at the bottom.

I use two chrome accounts, one for normal life, which has adblock. Then a second account for the motovlog side of life, without adblock. So yeah, I let the adverts roll when watching motovlogs, in the hope that people might do the same when watching mine :D

I let the ads roll when I'm watching from home. If I'm watching from work, then I use adblock because my internet connection is crap and it takes too long to get to the actual video, lol.

I leave the pop ups and if its someone I want to support (i'm subscribed to) I will let the adds run but if I'm just browsing random videos I skip

This is similar to me, if it is someone I am subscribed to i'll let them run. Random browsing, depends how I fell.

I let the ads run. I click on the ones that interest me to. It helps keep youtube in business, and I never want it to go away.

Nope, no ads for me. Adblock on. Well sometimes I have to wait to skip the ad if I'm watching on mobile or some computer that doesn't have Adblock installed.

I actually don't mind if they have the ads that run along the sides or on the page, but not within/inline the video where I'm forced to sit through it (for 5 seconds :P), don't forget the advertisers already paid big bucks to YT to post their ads up, so watching (or not watching) the ad doesn't really matter to YT.

That's what I think anyway.

I run with adblocker on, so never see ads. Inline ads have never bothered me, but the further and further push to create invasive and popover ads has driven me that way.

Those ones have ruined it for the rest.
Pretty much a reason I don't monetise my channel too - because of people like me (:

I thought YouTube only got paid if the ad's run for a certain period of time? I may be wrong with this though.

I watch the adverts for the content providers I like and subscribe too if I'm looking for a music track or something then I skip

I think how long it runs or number of views/clicks are part of the metrics YT uses to present to the client (advertiser) how well their ad is performing, you still need to pay to post your ad, I believe, just like on TV, you have to pay them to air your ad, then they (TV station) will give you some report to show how popular your ad is on their channel and what-not to justify the cost of purchasing that air-time.

I could be wrong. Most probably I'm wrong.

7 votes all... so what we are saying is that the guys making money from youtube, in particular those that rely on it (like Jake, M13, C2W etc) could be making double what they are. But because kids cant wait 5 sec to the skip button, or 30 sec for those rare unskipable ones, they just have to settle for less. I dare to say youtube could be an even better service if its income doubled.

You could probably sum it up in that way. I'm not complaining about what I'm getting though. If you are making it a full time thing, I doubt YouTube will be your only source of income.

As I said, those I really appreciate I donate to their Patreon pages and I really despise adverts. Google need to hurry up and make that subscription service available in my country if they want to profit from me.
