So, Today I was doing a vlog and half way through I came across an accident, A car ran into a cyclist and I don't believe the cyclist survived... It looked pretty bad. The question is do I upload it, it could be educational as it showed how it happened. But at the same time it is disrespectful and could be very distressing for some people. What do I do?

Do it, BBC, ITV might buy it off you!

*Edit* Put all the details time and road names and as much detail about the vehicles involved in it (Registration plates etc).

No. If the cyclist didn't survive, imagine how the family would react if they found the footage.

Exactly my feeling. I have since discovered that he has come off with only a broken finger. Although he did go into a coma like state from shock. I still don't think I want to upload it.

If you can contact the person you may want to offer the footage to them. Your be surprised, if it was me on the bike I would like to see it myself.

And if they know about vloging they may even be amenable to it being put online.

I like that idea. I think you should make an attempt to contact the cyclist and let them know about your footage. If it were me I'd say put it up and make it well known because people need to learn.

I would imagine they'd be grateful, if they're anything like me?

Isn't most peoples problem with notifications of military deaths etc that they don't REALLY know what happened?

I'd want to see what happened to someone I knew...

Unless you were laughing over the body and poking their giblets with a stick. Then it's in bad taste. :?

It is up to you but you can get in trouble if you do not take into account the persons Dignity.

I never upload videos showing someone getting hurt or someone being endangered severely. It's just my personal views though... I feel it's best to leave that kind of footage up to the end user to find. There's plenty of gore available on the internet. If someone is looking for that kind of footage, they will find it, there's no reason to subject all of your viewers to it.

Just remember, the fact that you had to ask means that even you were doubting whether it should be uploaded. Trust your instincts and delete it.
