General Ditching ICE for a day, part 2

That's a good looking bike.

I think if a bike company puts something out with performance focus vs EV, it'll make lots of converts and sell. I think the issue there would be range. I posted a range related Q on your vid :)

I think I heard somewhere that the Super Soco was one of the best selling bikes of 2021... not sure if that is UK, Europe or worldwide though.
I think @Meifesto had a loan of one recently too.

Yes, the range is a difficult topic, because as soon as you switch it to high power, more suitable for outside the urban areas, the distance drops drastically. And we really don't have hills\mountains here to test that aspect. I just found out there is a possibility to rent it, and tried it out. They do sell it here too, for about 4000-5000 eur, I think.

With the price it comes with, it could easily be, but in our area, it does require 1'st level motorcycle licence. Many EU countries allow this kind of bike to be ridden with car drivers licence.

Nice looking bike and good choice for the route, showing the former race circuit!
The bike did seem kind of sluggish, but I would have to give it a try too when the weather allows to enjoy the two-wheelers around here.

Did you have to park it at a charging station when returning the bike and plug it in?

@Hrunkaru actually the rental agency guys did the charging bit themselves. I just notified them, that I was coming and they met me at their garage. This bike is meant to replace the 125cc segment, so I would not say it's sluggish. With my weight, I doubt any 125cc will move that fast. Well maybe some odd 2 stroke ones.

Agreed, definitely depends on what you are comparing it to. I just have zero experience with bikes (or scooters etc) with less than 600cc displacement.
It does seem to make sense for city commuting with no or little frills, although you’d have to come up with alternative for winter.

For being equal to a 125cc powered bike, it looks promising. I can see newer riders in urban and suburban areas getting these depending on price.

I like your point in the video where you point out about how you live in an apartment so charging it would be a challenge.

Charging in the apartment buildings is problem now, but likely we will be seeing EV charging options appearing in new buildings and added to existing buildings as well - in Estonia there are emerging companies focussing on exactly this issue.
Probably no big leap in next year or two, but I believe at some point this would be a normal situation - if we are able to get the electricity prices down in Estonia again to make EV's more appealing again, but this is getting off-topic. :)

I want an electric motorcycle so badly, but until we get bikes with decent ranges I won't be buying one. Hopefully they get better over the next few years.

Yeah, I did discover that article too, a little after making that comment. So basically he has done excellent accident avoiding cars, and refuses to do the same for bikers, which is his way of making motorcyclists safer.
Considering he was 17 when he had the crash, I am fairly certain it was not the fault of the bike, he got in to the crash, but rather his road strategy\skills. But go say this to one of the richest men on the planet, who knows what will happen to you. Bunch of Asimo lookalikes might come and get you.

I think the 50cc equivalent would be painful to ride here, because by law they need to be limited to 45kph
Yupe, limited to 45kmh, but ridable by 16 years.
So fastfood deliver vechicle of choice for most companies ;)

And the TC went 52km/h even
