Different Tyres!!

Hi all, anyone ever had any problems with 2 different makes of tyre on their bike? Ie: Bridgestone on rear and metzler on front. Unbalanced? Slippy?

Tires are made to go on as a set, but many people will run a softer, sticky tire up front to keep it from slipping.

I've always kept mine paired but no one has ever provided a sound reason to do so (other than anecdotal sources).

I don't think it matters at all. ADV and dual-sport riders do it all the time

Mine are different brands, and different ages. I replace when i get a puncture or when the tyre flattens out.

Never had an issue

Interesting. Got 2 different brands on mine when I bought it. Plenty of tread left but was going to replace with 2 of the same.

honestly, unless youre racing and expect alot from your tyres, You wont tell the difference.

As long as they are the same type of tyre, shouldn't matter. Eg Both road tyres or both dirt tyres.
