So I have a 2 year old mac air. Love this thing, does everything you need, including edit videos in a hurry. Now its not meant to be a gaming laptop by any means, but its barely thicker than my galaxy s6 and its a beast.
Then 2 weeks ago it just wouldnt turn on. Now my luck is that it would just be dead and I would be out another 1100 bucks. But lickily apple has AWESOME customer service. So the local store has a policy that they sent it out on since there was no liquid damage and the mother board and HDD were replaced for 200 bucks. Now its back to being bad ass again.

I decided to buy a MacBook Pro 2 years ago, a late 2013 retina 13". I was replacing PC laptops on average less than every 2 years, so while an MBP was double the price, if it makes 4 years, it has paid for itself.

I had a Imac, good computer and a bad ass screen, but obviously the portability was a huge factor here. Sometimes I am in my truck in-between classes or on lunch doing homework, or editing. Cant do that with a PC. Well I guess you could, but it really wouldnt be worth it. I am however trying to save a little here and there to get a desktop as well that I can use when I am home.

Ya if this thing couldnt have been fixed for a god price I already a macpro picked out. Good thing apple offers a student discount lol. ALso good that I didnt have to use it.

Last year I bought a Macbook - the new one with 1 port and limited CPU/GPU... At the time I remember thinking "nah, I am never going to do video with this thing so the limited power is fine" and literally 1 month later I start motovlogging - now I spend 75% of my time in FCPX, proves you can't predict the future... It seems to handle it fine though, thankfully, otherwise I'd be screwed
