Soo i wondered would it be worth it in doing a competion to get more subs. Like if i hit the 1000 mark i would give away a helmet camera to someone picked at random, anyone else ever done something like this/

I did something like this once, prizes and sponsors, gave away a gun silencer and a bunch of other shit lol! It was fun, but now that there is no video reply's, its harder to do. Before you could just have everyone do a VR to enter and you get more people in it that way.

If you do a giveaway to gain subs, you may get people subbing in order to win the prize, but if they're not interested in your channel you'll either get an increased percentage of subs who don't watch your videos (not good for your channel) or they'll unsub after the giveaway. I think a better idea is to do a giveaway to reward your loyal subscribers.
There's no easy way to increase sub count. You just have to work at it. If you make good videos, they will come :)
I've seen motovloggers start after I did and their sub count now eclipses mine. Some of them make better videos than me, but not all of them (IMHO). It's encouraged me to try to make better vlogs, put more effort into them. Involving yourself in the community and attending meet-ups seems to be a great way of increasing your sub count, but focus on your vlogs first.

Nothing personal but a general viewpoint ... buying subs ... Bogus to the max!! Needy and disillusioned! .... Yes I know it's not paying for subs up front... But offering a stated big ticket prize to gain the subs.... Still buying....

Different vloggers have done a random giveaway for existing subs when reaching benchmarks 100,500,1000 etc .... But that's like a thanks for continuing support .... And makes an extra connection for people who APPRECIATE what you do...... Not what you give away ...

Having 100 subs or 1000 subs or 100,000 subs does what? ....

It does NOT make anyone a better person than they previously were in any way ..... More popular perhaps ... But we are still exactly the same person!

It DOES show (mostly) that however many that number of sub is, they appreciate 'us' for who we are and what we do to tell the stories ... The subs connect with our personality good or bad , and yes our skills and style may change over time...

So I see it as another of the social media 'friendship' trading experiences.... If anyone is going out there to just gain fame, be an 'epic legend' and magically become an improved human being?! .... You gonna have a hard time!

Just my .... (Counting) .... Oh I dunno ... Buck and a quarter?

I was thinking of doing a 500 giveaway before reading this thread and now I am kinda discouraged. But @janx101 is right, it is pretty much like buying subs who would only sub just for a chance to get something for free. I do enjoy the interactivity with others than the sub count number. Who knows, I might just do it anyways just because... :/

I did one at 300 and @TriumfAnt actually won it. Lucky for my wallet he wasn't in the UK. LOL!

But I deserved it @IREV808 because I was already a subscriber to your channel :)
I did a giveaway when I reach 100, but I didn't make being a subscriber a condition on entering. If I do another I'll try to limit it to people who interact with me the most. Make it a thank you giveaway.
Don't get disheartened with our advice @CBRHoonigan, we're only trying to be helpful. You can always tell us to f*ckoff and do it anyway. It's your channel. :)

Well I just did a motovlog about this. General consensus is that it is not like you are "buying subs" but rather your intent of why you want to do giveaways. If you have your core group of viewers that always comment and watch then it will be much more worth it rather than a bunch of people who just subbed to get something for free. Basically quality over quantity.

Another person in my comments had a good idea of going through your videos and see who has been consistent from the beginning. If you want to do a random draw, throw their names in maybe 5-10x as much as someone who you have never seen since you posted your giveaway video. It may not seem fair to those who just subbed or easy to sift through your videos but I think it is as fair enough because those certain subs supported you throughout the way.

I was thinking of a rule must like facebook page then post a picture of their motorbike or something no bike no prize sort of deal but after seeing alot of peoples thoughts i think i probably wont do it now as people stated quality not quantity :) thanks for the input lads :)
