Clips from 2017, for channel trailer

Theodor

Don't wannabe
So I gathered some clips, from last year, and took some free youtube music goodness, and mixed it up, for an attempt of making my very first channel trailer.

Thank you, @HippoDrone ! I actually had another piece of music in mind, at first, but I have been unsuccessful, with reaching the author, for getting permission to use that song, so I just went through youtube library, until I found this one, which is also quite nice, for such a montage.

I've used copyrighted music in my channel trailer, as it is just an intro into what my content is about I wanted to use some music I liked currently. MeansI can't monetise it but in 8 days time I'd not be able to anyway.... I kinda thought it might help with exposure if someone was searching for that music and came across my trailer.
I really like the music you used though, kinda suits it :-)

ohey, I live near the lake where that paddleboat was located.
I'm wary of using copyrighted music not because of the ads, but rather the risk of having the vid be blocked in some countries. So I seek to use royalty-free music as much as possible. Ofc it helps to have musician friends.

@F4celess I believe the video would not be blocked, if you choose a song, that others have uploaded too, and their videos have not been blocked. But I take it as a courtesy, to ask the artist before. Some artists are very OK, to have their songs used, only need to give them credit. Others do not like it. So I'll just not use the songs of the latter.

If you’re unsure if a song will be blocked. Upload it as private / link only and wait a couple of days, watch it from a couple of different IPs/computers and google will flag it, if the audio is removed, delete it and use another track ;)

Thanks, @dandoolittle , even though it's not really an intro, I don't plan on putting it in the beginning of every video. It would be far too long, for that.I'm the kind of guy, who tries to skip intro bits on tv series too :P

Thank you, @chrisw959 !
Is it just because they are riding clips, and most are not? :)
I try to keep my channel split between motovlogs and travel videos. Latter meaning off bike videos, at places I visit.

Nice trailer. I agree the music works well. My only suggestion would be to go to the clip of the boat first before the pan of that court yard as it's (the boat) more unexpected and a strong contrast to the road POV shots. Again, only as a suggestion.

You could also make a 15 second version for an actual intro for a vid. Editing is about distilling footage for a
maximum whole.

Contrast and surprise work well in a montage. Get the viewer to think or expect one thing then hit them with something else. The boat shot and the high mountain pass were really cinematic compared to the pan of the courtyard so I thought they would work better first.

Every now and then my hip work, with panning, comes out just right. And my phones camera also has OIS, so that also helps, with achieving the cinematic effect. Not often, when I really want it though :D
