Cheapest Place ot buy your Restrictor kit - Sub £100

Got my restrictor kit from http://www.cheap33bhprestrictorkits.com/ for £135 which is a lot less than they charge over on FI International - Same kit from the same manufacturer, lower cost! Anyway, I've googled the product number and company name and have found I could have bought the same kit directly from the manufacturer for 105 Euro which translates roughly to £85.

If you cant find the kit you need on the website then follow these steps:
1. Go to http://www.fiinternational.com/
2. Find the restrictor kit for your bike on the website
3. copy and paste the VIN and PART NO. into google followed by 'alphatecknik'
4. Look through the links and there should be one to the Alpha Technik website where you'll find the kit you want.

Might have to try a few links but you should find the page you want eventually The site's in German so I'd advise using google chrome to search so you have the page automatically translated.

I once made a legal 33hp restrictor for free out of wood, but it did cost £40 to run it on a dyno to get the HP printout.

I saw that mate but I was advised against it :/ Im sure they are exactly the same though, I decided it was better to keep the bike engineer I know happy and buy the more expensive kit so that he keeps working on my bike for free when It needs things doing and stuff haha

Yeah it was a throttle stop I made for RS, it took about an hour to make, saved a fair bit of money, everything you've ever heard about penny pinching Scots is true

I take it the mechanic you paid £135 advised you against it. The paper work isn't a legal requirement, as long as there is restrictors fitted its fine.
If it was ever queried, the police/insurance company have to prove they're not fitted.

Best way to do it. The £100+ ones with "official" paperwork are just a scam, which the insurance companies and dealerships are both in on.

It isn't half. I got well and truly ripped off with a £250 purchase and fitment charge!

I dont have any paperwork stuff as I know it's a load of bollocks Like you said, if you were questioned they's just put the bike on a dyno. My friend, the mechanic doesnt charge me anything but used to charge £80 and hour when he built race bikes (still has a really nice custom Ducatti). Due to the nature of his old work he is very partcular over how things are done, everything has to be perfect and therfore he wont work on my bike if it has 'uncertified' parts fitted to the engine system. It does seem kinda crazy when I could have saved £100 but the way I look at it it's worthwhile, when my NSR was totally messed up at the start of the year he spent hours sorting it out for me and I've got to be honest, I haven't had nearly as many problems as I used to have since

Equally if you where to make restrictors yourself and sell them, the profits would be massive.
